Antique Fuscia-Colored Stone Bead and Cord Necklace

This bright, solid, beaded necklace belonged to my grandmother. It's likely she brought the necklace with her from Germany in the 1920s. I do not know what type of gem the stone is. Agate? The original cord broke and I had it repaired by a jeweler many years ago. Rather than recreate the knots between each bead, he added the gold-ish bead accents in between them. I also don't know if that is the original clasp or if he replaced it. If it's the original clasp, I expect it would be gold. Some tiny numbers are imprinted on it. (My grandmother didn't have much, but what she had would have been the real thing.) I don’t know if that style clasp would have been around in her day.
