Martial artist, politician, and promoter of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts, he is best known by the ring name Antonio Inoki. The second is a tribute to the original Japanese-based Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) which was a Japanese professional wrestling promotion from 1984 to 1986, formed by wrestlers who had left New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
