Vintage Westmoreland green satin mist glass Colonial Pattern two-Handled and footed sweetmeat open compote- perfect for candy, cookies, soaps, a floating gardenia flower, or just decorative for colorful addition to a glass collection. This particular bowl has a handle on either side and a 3 1/4" high foot on a 2 7/8" wide base. The Bowl stands 6 1/2" high at the handle, and is 5 1/4" wide across the top. It's embossed on the bottom with the Westmoreland mark. This glass is the chemically treated pressed glass known as "satin glass" which started being manufactured in the U.S. and England in the 1880s. The Westmoreland Glass Company was founded in 1889 and located in East Liverpool, Ohio and is known for its production of high-quality milk glass, but also is known for its high-quality decorated glass.
