Vintage Hand-Carved Indonesia Dance Wooden Mask Topeng Folk Art Wall Decor

I love the interesting and weird, and this mask definitely doesn't disappoint! This is a vintage hard-carved wooden mask from Indonesia, used for a dance ritual called the Topeng. If you look it up, the story on this is very interesting but basically they dance and tell stories using masks of gods, kings, demons, etc. This particular one is King Klana, but to me he looks like a demon! He has a very long nose that has a rub on one corner as shown. Overall mask is in excellent shape. Year is unknown, but the tacks holding the hanging string have rusted. Made of a lightweight wood and hand-painted. I think this was designed to be hung on the wall and not worn. Very cool, creepy, and one-of-a-kind!
