Vintage Holy Water Font - Circa '20's-'40's

This is a vintage holy water font, believed to be circa 1920's - 1940's My mother tells me it was always hanging in the home she grew up in, she was born in 1927, that's why I have labeled it the dates listed. Madonna and the Holy Child The detail is amazing, I believe it to be hand crafted ceramic/pottery and hand painted with gold tone throughout. The back has some markings yet I don't know what they mean and the vessel holding the holy water appears to have 1928 written in it...or if you turn the vessel upside down, the same numbers appear to be 8261 (could it be the number of how many were made). I don't know more about this, I wish I did. But I do believe it is a treasure! No chips or cracks.
