BETSCHDORF salt glazed pottery floral butterfly bud vase

BETSCHDORF signed stoneware pottery small bud vase--the shape narrows in the middle and flares out at top and bottom. Made in the Alsace region of France, this light-to-medium gray bud vase is lightly textured and speckled due to the salt glaze (glazed both on the exterior and interior); the colors of the decorative elements (flowers and a butterfly) are cobalt blue, olive green, yellow-gold, and a brick red-brown. The piece is stamped on the bottom with the pottery house's name, the place of origin ("Alsace"), the type of glaze, and the artist's initials. Sweet vase that would fit in with a variety of decors. Excellent pre-owned condition--clean interior, no chips or cracks.
