The straps are slightly short for a Crossbody, it could definitely be worn that way as shown in picture. Crossbody bags just weren’t a thing in those days. Outside is a good quality leather. The hardware where the straps attach is sort of gold toned, but the front focal piece seems more silver, most likely the gold has rubbed off. The inside leather has cracking at the fold. This does not affect the wear at all and it certainly doesn’t hurt the look. Leather has minor scuffing .This bag can definitely take you from daytime to an evening out.
