Inspired by the column gowns of the Grecian goddesses, this beautifully draped, dark red dress was created by Anthony Muto in the late 1970s. Silky jersey gathered at the waist, the dress closes in the back with a zipper and hook. The petal skirt is draped in the front & comes up to the knee area (depending on your height) and the skirt dips at the hem back. mamasotavintage Anthony Muto (1934 -2015) designed dresses for 3 first ladies in his storied career which included not one but 2 clothing labels: AM/PM & Marita by Anthony Muto. Noted for his draping skills, Mr. Muto was fascinated with the engineering possibilities inherent in a single article of clothing. A jersey dress of his from the 1970s, for instance, could be worn in four completely different ways, with the wearer adjusting the neck, waist and hemline by means of tasseled drawstrings.
