[Like if a teenage daughter took her 50s sitcom Mom's dress and modified it to make it cool.] From the front it looks like it could be a high waisted skirt and tie front shirt set, but in the back there's full coverage. Long sleeves with slight princess shoulder. Shirred/smocked waistband at back/sides for fit. Side pockets on skirt. Look of mother of pearl-like or pearlescent buttons down front, at collar, and at cuffs, but actually functional snaps. You can open as many of the snaps on the skirt as you want to create a front slit of your desired length. The pink, blue, and sage green of the floral are beautiful against the marigold.
