This jacket is made from a rare double black silk organza textile from Nuno called 'Feather Flurries' c.1990's, designed by Reiko Sudo, that features handwoven silk made on a jacquard loom, with bird feathers inserted by hand. This work of art combines techniques from Fujiyoshida (another area known for its fine silk fabrics) with handcrafting. Examples of this type of weave by Sudo are now in the permanent collections of art galleries in more than ten locations worldwide, including New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
