This rare, hard-to-find stretch glass from the later period by Fenton Glass, known as the "Sheffield" pattern and "Peaches and Cream" color, is in impeccable condition. It has a diameter of 10-3/4 inches and stands just under 3-1/2 inches tall. Compared to Early Period stretch glass, Late Period pieces are thicker and heavier. They are typically marked with the Fenton logo inside an oval, accompanied by a number—8, 9, or 0—indicating its creation in the 1980s, 1990s, or post-2000, respectively. This bowl features the Fenton logo and the number 8. The glass's increased thickness served two purposes: reducing breakage and accommodating the use of older molds. These molds often required buffing to eliminate rust or pitting, which expanded the gap between the plunger and the mold. However, the primary concern was the fragility of thin glass, leading to a deliberate redesign of the molds to produce thicker, more durable glass.
