SHOWSTOPPER 1930s BLACK STRAW ASYMMETRICAL WIDE BRIM HAT

This truly a sensational 1930s' hat! It consists of a round crown surrounded by an asymmetrical wide brim, which is upturned at the front, and trimmed with a grosgrain band. Women’s hats in the 1930s covered the hair and were used to mysteriously cover one eye or the forehead. The front brim could be floppy or sturdy and was used to cover the forehead and eyes. Hats were normally worn asymmetrically and slightly tilted or propped to one side of the head.
