Vintage 1950s WWII World War II Alaska Souvenir pillowcase soldiers souvenir.

Very RARE ALASKA SOUVENIR PILLOW COVER. From the 1940s through the 1960s souvenir pillow cases were popular items.  Usually done on a satiny material in gaudy colors with fringe the pillows cases would be collected as a souvenir of the city, state or military base a person had visited.   They were things that were usually given - brought home by a boyfriend, husband or son and given to the sweetheart, wife, or mother.  They lack sophistication but were a reflection of the taste of the ordinary person of this Vintage Alaska Souvenir Silk Fringed pillow cover. It has some discoloration due to age but otherwise great condition. See photos.
