Vintage African Warrior Protection Talisman Necklace

Age and magic hang heavy on this piece. Hand crafted many years ago, it’s a strong visual statement with its V of red trade beads, a scalloped horn shield, and two oversized tusks from a fierce beast. A bridge of turquoise seems to represent sky, water, or perhaps the spirit. Inside the bowl deeply carved wooden beads hold court. Overall its arresting, beautiful, museum worthy, and comes across as very special. Unisex, perfect as a gift for him, or something for you. Reversible. Wear it with layers like a bohemian goddess, wear it alone with a minimalist outfit and let it carry you through battle. People will comment on it and want to touch it; it has that effect. Like I said: magic. Antique, very old, but age ultimately unknown. I do know the red beads are at least a century old, so thats a beginning. Vintage patina is appropriately thick, the cording is strong, one chip to a tooth exists, but generally in fantastic condition. Hangs about 20” long to the top of the central disk.
