Vintage Climax by David Howard Light Blue Prom/Formal/Maxi Dress - 1973 This is a (t-back?) dress with a ruffle neckline and a tie in the back and zips up the back. I wore it once to my Senior Prom in 1973. It is made of a shiny (satin-looking?) fabric, but back then we removed those tags so they wouldn't show, so I can't be sure of the exact material or size. It is a Climax by David Howard dress. I measured around the top at the bottom of the bustline and it measures about 29 inches; and from the bottom of the bustline to the bottom of the dress is about 45 inches - I'm 5'3" and would have been wearing some kind of heels. It looks much better on a person than it does on a hanger! Also, it MIGHT NEED TO BE CLEANED, but it definitely NEEDS TO BE PRESSED as it has been sitting in a plastic bag in my closet for decades. PLEASE NOTE: I can't get good full length pictures of the dress in the Poshmark ad no matter how hard I try, it cuts most of them off.

x2grandma Thank you for the interest in my dress, I don't think it has any flaws, but if memory serves me, it was professionally altered at the top of the straps. I cannot contact you through email, only through Poshmark, so feel free to purchase the dress through the Poshmark website if you want it, as it is against the rules to do anything outside of the Poshmark site.

x2grandma It's a little hard to tell because it is empire style, so the actual waistline is several inches below that. Also, since the ties come from the sides, you could possibly tie them so that it bunches up in the back and it would only be about 32 inches at 8 inches down from the empire bustline, but I don't believe that it would fit right because it would pull the armholes way back. It is about 34 inches about 8 inches down from the bottom of the empire bustline with the ties loosely tied. (con't)

x2grandma @emilyorchier When I pull the ties as tight as they go, then the empire waist is about 18 inches at the point under the bustline. I hope that helps answer your question.

x2grandma @emilyorchier It was about 18 inches all the way around, but that is at the EMPIRE waist, which isn't where a person's waist is, but the measurement around the ribcage just under the bust. From there it gets wider as it goes down. It is only that small if you pull the ties as tight as they go, which would make the armholes pulled back and the back scrunched together. It measures about 28 inches around the ribcage just under the bust at the empire waistline without tied tight. (con't)

x2grandma @emilyorchier I will add new pictures showing the tape measurement and also how the back looks if you tie it normal as well as tied tight. Please note where the armholes end up when tied as tight as possible.
