EUC. Large Richard Ginori porcelain rectangle handled platter the Pittoria pattern decorated with a central landscape reserve in sepia tones. The border with blue dots and gilding. Made in Italy. Measures 12" x 9". Richard Ginori "Fiesole" / Pittoria Vintage painted porcelain set - his "hallmark" Ginori design inspired by the view of the Florentine countryside from the Doccia villa and the site of the original porcelain factory. "Fiesole is a town in the Tuscany region of Italy, on a famously scenic height above Florence. By the 14th century, rich Florentines had countryside villas in Fiesole, and some of their more famous residents have included Gertrude Stein and Frank Lloyd Wright. Such is the inspiration for the bucolic scene central to the design of the Fiesole collection by Richard Ginori, one of their top selling patterns.
