Signed vintage Chanel necklace by Archimede Seguso from around the 1960s. Made of alternating black and frosted white/clear blown murano glass links linked together like interlocking CCs, featuring pave rhinestone rondelles, and finished with gilt caps. Some patina on the gilt caps. Approximately 31 inches around when clasped. The clasp is signed with Seguso’s mark, AS. The clasp is secure and fully functional, but there is a small area at the edge of where the tab inserts that it appears that there may have been a repair. Wonderful piece for anyone who collects mid-century modern jewelry, Seguso, or Chanel - but also eminently wearable just to enjoy. See photos for details.
I recently met with Dr. Lori Verderame (antique appraiser with a PhD in art history - she’s done appraisals on several TV shows, e.g., The Curse of Oak Island) and my price on this is based on her valuation of it. The necklace has also been authenticated by a professional third party authentication service (replicas are rare, but do exist - and not every piece that was at one time original can be authenticated because many of them have been modified). Certificate information will be sent with the piece.
