Love the classic mod look of this 1960s - think "Mad Men" - maxi dress that was referred to as a "hostess dress" in its day. The designer label is no longer present, but the style of the union label was used from 1963-1974. The dress has a black bodice with a turtle neck and long, sheer sleeves with shirt cuffs in the skirt material. The skirt fabric has a colorful, abstract pattern in teal, blue, olive green, and brown. The skirt also has a self belt with a gold-tone buckle. It is embellished at the hem with olive green fringe. I'm not sure whether the fringe is original to the dress, but it could easily be removed. Closure is with a back zipper. The fabrics look and feel like polyester with a little bit of a spongy texture that was typical of the era. The belt is marked size 12, but measurements indicate that it is closer to a modern size 8 to 10. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with a similar garment that fits you.
