Colonial Figurine Miniature Made in Japan Vintage 1940s-50s

I have so many of these figurines, but this one is different. This gentlemen seems to be patiently waiting for someone to join him. And, whether that is a cushion or a blanket next to him, I’d like to think he brought for z special girl. I say it’s different because I’ve never seen pre-post war Japanese colonial figurines that incorporated actual fabric. Just an interesting piece.
