This lovely skirt is high quality black rayon crepe and fully lined. Made in India and embroidered with roses, vines, and other flowers in the manner of the Manton de Manila. Shawls or Silk Piano Shawls which were made in China for the Spanish market in the late 19th and early 20th century. Amazingly, It is vintage Gap from the 1990s. Lovely! Surprisingly high quality for a Gap item. Looks like a designer piece. Very well done! Size 8 measures15.5 inch waist, flat lay or 31 inch circumference. Length is 37" Excellent condition. Looks like new. Fringe at bottom of skirt is hand macrame for 2" then has 6" of fringe beyond that. This is well made like a classic antique Manton de Manila Shawl that has been refashioned into a skirt. Very sexy. The fringe moves seductively when you walk or dance. Skirt has a side zipper and darts at the waist to make it fit smoothly. I would keep this but it is not my size and I think altering it too much might ruin it. Thus I am seeking a new owner whom it will fit. It reminds me of the Art Deco jazz Age, something Zelda Fitzgerald would have worn. Very romantic! A real treasure at a very good price. Looks very expensive. Shown with a top not included in the listing. Style it with any black top and heels and you are ready to go out on the town. Easy to wear! Perfect for a cocktail party!
