Gorgeous vintage Westmoreland opalescent milk glass small creamer and sugar set

Gorgeous vintage Westmoreland fruit patterned (pear, apple and grapes with leaves) sweet two handled sugar bowl and creamer set. This beautiful set is so lustrous and has some translucence and is in pristine condition. No stains, cracks, scratches or chips. There appears to be a slight bit of discoloration on the bottom of the sugar bowl, hardly noticeable. Although this beautiful set appears to be fragile, they are not. The glass is a bit on the thicker side, which it had to be In order to accommodate the beautiful fruit pattern when they were originally manufactured. The signature Westmoreland “W” is superimposed over the “G”, from pieces made in the early to mid 20th century and is visible at the bottom of each piece. Milk glass was never used to make sets of dishes rather it was used to make decorative pieces. Often with Westmoreland milk glass, the motifs on their molds included grape patterns. In fact, the Westmoreland manufacturer was most commonly associated with having patented grape motif patterns and patterns with beaded edges. The circumference of each piece is approximately 3.25” This set originally belonged to a dear friend’s husband’s grandmother and he has decided to impart them to someone who would use and appreciate them more!!
