HOLLY HARP Vintage Tiered Black & Floral Silk Chiffon Party Dress SIZE 8/10 M/L

This feminine black silk dress with a lavender, red, and green botanical pattern is from notable American designer Holly Harp. It has a V neckline in both front and back with five ruffles draped horizontally around the circumference of the dress from shoulders to hem. Underneath the floral chiffon tiers is a black silk dress to which the outer tiers are attached. This "under dress" looks and feels like silk with a little elastane or spandex added for stretch. The dress slips on over the head without additional closures. No fabric label is present, but the floral tiers look and feel like silk chiffon. The dress dates to the 1970s or 1980s - I've seen both dates attributed to this Holly Harp style when researching it - but I lean toward the 1980s. No size label is present, but based on the measurements, sizing charts indicate it is in the modern size 8/10 or M/L range. MEASUREMENTS - Underarm chest measurement is 38” - Waist is about 35” - Hips measure about 42” - Length is about 39” from top of shoulder to bottom. CONDITION Excellent condition with no apparent flaws. A tuck has been sewn at the bottom of the "under dress" to shorten it a couple of inches (it might have been showing a little bit from underneath the chiffon top layer).
