She said the reason she offers low because they are thrift store items & she also said because sometimes a Posher will accept. They don’t understand the time we put into all of this between the shipping, measurements, photos, listing, sharing, mailing so I don’t have time for them. I am wondering if it is worth it. I don’t know about you but I did awesome for the past 9 months but May has been horrible sales have dropped and all I get is Lowballers. I have my items so low just barely paying for the cost now and still no offers for all new items. Crazy

@thriftygirl2415 ya I agree . The last two months have been slow and I’m now posting spring and summer items. The older items I have below $10 and I still get $4-5 offers!! It is so much work. I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t really need the $. I had to quit teaching because of my health. I don’t wear the clothes, so I might as well make $$. I had a garage sale last year. People wouldn’t even pay $5 for jcrew pants!

Nice when you can come to an agreement w/ a low baller, like I did today on a bundle, but I also agree the WORST as we when a fellow Seller low balls. Offering me $25 on an item that is NWT & originally cost $149 & I have market down to a fair $70...when their closet is full of expensive purses🙄. ✌️&💕&🤗

I have nothing against Poshers who thrift, 💩...many, many all do ! I just do not thrift-sell & I do not appreciate getting accused of something others do. If they want to feel that way or do not like my prices, which are all extremely reasonable considering what originally paid/worth, then shop someone else.

These people either don’t understand how the platform works, or are just trying to get something for nothing. We are not being rude, the lowballer is the one being rude and disrespectful. Ever since I stumbled across a group that is proud to go to these Goodwill Bins daily and then sell it on here for outrageous prices.They even post of the non sanitary conditions these “bins” are in and how to clean and get stains out.🤢After seeing yours I you definitely feel better. I really feel this is why this is why a lot of people feel it’s ok to lowball is because they are seeing publicly online how cheap others are we getting items from Goodwill bins and other thrift places and reselling them for. Say find a used ( who knows how many times) name brand item & buy for $3, then sell on here for $60. It's many Poshers hustle on here, just not mine. I am in no way judging those who do, but I do not. You get alot of "low ball" offers on here, which are rude & disrespectful. I finally one day asked a Posher why would you offer me that low low price & my expensive, quality item..

@ladysilver Hi! Thank you for the compliments! I'm still fairly a Posh newbie myself, learning & growing the more as I go. As for photo editing I may not be the best to ask. I only have logo on a couple pics for the listing pic is most important & logos can distract. Do you have a Android phone or iPhone? If iphone I wouldn't know much how they operate for I always had Android's. Do you know how to screenshot? Using Google & screenshot is how you get "stock photos".

Not sure if you have Android or iPhone...I have Android. Hope this helps & glad you agree with me. A LOT of Poshers do thrift-sell...I say do your thing, but it doesn't sit well with me. @hollyayn77 Hi Beautiful 🌻 Yes, unfortunately a LOT of Poshers buy from thrift stores to sell on Posh. Just not my thing. Be careful how you price. Know that Posh takes 20%, & many Poshers will offer & low ball. Always start with a higher price, & have a set price in mind & stick with it. Your brands are fine. Make sure to write brand in listing title to lure Posher in. Share, share SHARE! Share your closet several times daily & share from others. Follow at least 200 Poshers daily.

@hollyayn77 Follow all directions in "Posh Stats" on how to reach Ambassador Status. You can be successful & make hundreds a month, you just have to learn all the tips & tricks. Right now is a slow time for a lot of us but I was told sales will pick up soon. Patience is key & so is communication with others. Join a share group or two. This helps you form your "Posh Circle/Family". I have one at top of my closet, @kandyzland has a few a well.

@harper946 Hi Beautiful 🌻 Errr...this is a tough one. Do your best to Google the item. Describe it to the tee in Google search. Then search through results. I buy directly from manufacturer on some items so stock photos will be in website. Also, if you purchase through other selling sites, stock photo may be found with item. Hope this helps! Sometimes you can find stock photos on Posh too. If item is old, chances of finding photo is less likely.

@harper946 I am not sure what you mean by distributors. I fo not think wholesale is available till Ambassador status but I could be wrong. I wouldn't buy wholesale on Posh, just because so many do. One closet that has nice wholesale is (@)hollywood_rage. Other selling sites have wholesale or nice items at good prices. You can also appt for a wholesale license in your state where you can shop wholesale anywhere then. I'm working on getting mine, it's just costly

I was watching some you tubes videos about success in Poshmark and there was even one there on how to go to bins and then mark up etc. my stuff is either kind or boutique or like you said family.

I have toyed with reposting it ever since! I am hugely anti- thrifting! I feel people donate so those without can have something nice. I agree wholeheartedly about the videos & how the “thrifting” way of life has really caused a shift in the selling dynamic as well as the quality of buyers coming through. When sellers make thrifting videos & people watch them, then buy from them it makes me like this 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ you just watched them spend .65 cents for that dress that you bought from them for $25.

@4umatthew for a while Posh had, and still might have a gimmick advertisement on Pinterest and all over social media claiming you can buy NEW high end items for 80% off retail. I love a great sale as much as the. Next person BUT if I didn’t pay 80% off retail, I’m not selling it to someone else for 80% off plus posh takes 20%, so basically I am actually paying in more & making zero if I follow the ad’s way of listing. It feeds in the whole entitlement mentality that I’m personally sick of, lol.

This sounds like a great group, lots of ideas and tips. Love it! I liked this so that I can come back and learn more and maybe get more involved. I have bought and sold for years, and I do you have a local shop, and I call it a boutique and resale shop. I got a lot of people thinking it’s a thrift store. I plan to do with things of my better things here. I get my things from many sources, but definitely not the Goodwill bins. LOL

@4umatthew hello. Might I ask what thrift selling is? I read the thread, what do you do about these low ballers?!?! I mean, REALLY?!?! A 30$ offer on a 250$ piece that I paid 500$ for?!?! I was injured a few years ago and my income is 1/4th what it used to be. So…..selling. AND since covid I’ve had a huge influx of discarded/stray animals. You can’t just ignore them. 🤷🏼♀️. Any tips?

@angidabartender "Thrift Selling" aka Thrift-Store Selling, is the common practice to buy used clothing/shoes/bags/jewelry etc for cheap at thrift stores, then re-selling on Posh for profit. Everything I sell is either Brand 🆕 w/Tags, bought DIRECTLY through retailer of brand/label, or Like 🆕, in Flawless Condition, w/myself (mostly), or loved one donated, bought directly through retailer. Many sellers thrift sell & it personally disgusts me. Tons of YouTube vids on how to properly Thrift Sell🤦

@angidabartender So yes, it eerks me as well when I receive the dreaded low ball offer especially since on a lot of my items I paid full retail cost, which seems to be the case with you. Every time I get a low ball offer I counter with the price that I have planned on wanting to sell for, with a Sarah is explanation about quality, original retail cost, condition, rarity, etc, whatever applies to item in question. I have made sales this way and I have been ignored. Yes, low balls are rude.

@angidabartender the worst is the lowest of low low balls. People who literally offer 1/10 of listed price. Low ballers are often people who think your items are bought at thrift stores thus they feel they can offer thrift store price. I used to send low ballers to this listing, as well as my low balling is rude listing, though didn't get me anywhere. When you get a really rude offer, either counter or ignore. They unfortunately are going to happen often so you take your pick how to handle ✌️💗🤗

@4umatthew 🙄 bloody hell, what is wrong with people? I actually had a woman tell me that she would pay my lowest asking price to a store, but she wasn’t going to pay me my asking price. I told her that she would actually pay about 4x my asking price in a store. I flat out refused her. She got really offended. I’ve actually been blocking them if they act like jackasses.

@angidabartender So sorry honey. I worked retail/customer service in the past & Posh is a whole other level and I get mind boggled at times by the amount of disrespect, though there are also a lot of wonderful, kind, & respectful people as well. You did the right thing, you can always block someone who is being disrespectful, rude, lowballing, a scam closet, etc. I get annoyed when someone sets up a bundle, then never even responds to comments/offer.

@angidabartender Your closet is lovely. May I asked how our sales lately 🤔? I start Poshmark not too long before you and these past couple months have been an all-time low for me in sales. Stinks for like you, I'm on disability & rely a lot of my income on Posh sales and lately having hardly any. I'm on our family vacation currently, which means no sales, but geez. I know summers are usually lower sales than normal but this summer difficult. Guessing covid has caused a lot of hard times for many

@4umatthew you know, it really has been VERY low. I sell on 3 different sites and all of them have been slow. A sale here or there, but not much. And I know that people want a good deal, I get that, but don’t be so rude!!! And, as far as covid, we have stores closing because they can’t get workers. We have a restaurant here that has been around as long as I can remember and they had to close.

@4umatthew Work is there, people are just not working. And, idk about other people, but last year when I got laid off, my unemployment was a fraction of what I made. And our governor has stopped the extra federal money.

@4umatthew I’m so glad to see someone say all this out loud!! It’s hard for me to sell MY things 😂. I buy a lot on Posh and Online from stores. I take good care of my things and don’t wear 90% of what I buy. I’m constantly getting offers for the lowest someone can possibly go. On brand new-impeccable not reposhed pieces.

I don’t thrift-sell either. On the pieces I’ve worn I try to be as transparent as possible and spend so much time on things. Steaming-checking for pilling…I am horrible at photos but I try. I don’t know why I should essentially pay people to buy my things…
