JELLY BELLY JULIET BROOCH. True vintage, not a replica. VERY RARE Juliet brooch , from what would have been a pair of Romeo and Juliet Jelly Belly brooches! There she is on the balcony, waiting for her love to climb the trellis!Trifari converted some factories to produce Lucite windshields during WWII. The rejects were made into “cabochons,”and naturally, the genius designer Alfred Philippe came up with Jelly Bellies.Rival company Coro,under designer Adolph Katz, came up with his own spin. When sweethearts were finally reunited after the war, the jewelry designers were right there produced love and couple-themed brooches, such as “Lovebirds” , pairs of boy and girl animals celebrating reunions and marriages.( See photos) This piece is not signed, but is in wonderful vintage condition! Closeups look imperfect,it’s weird reflections.Gilt metal is highly polished. Juliet’s Pearl face is framed by blue diamanté curls.She holds a blue diamanté flower in her hand. Two red cabochons accent the base of the balcony.I can’t help thinking the Romeo brooch is still out there somewhere, looking for his girl!No ,smoke,odors,pets.
