London Fog Maincoats Trench Coat

A centennial celebration (2023), London Fog has earned it’s place in creating a sophisticated and classic piece like their trench coat. Beginnings in the early 1920s, LF produced waterproof clothing for the US Navy. Shortly after, they created a partnership with DuPont, and patented a removable zippered, liner. This helped launch them to their peak, in the 1970s. Where 2 of every 3 raincoats sold was a London Fog. Born and raised in Maryland, these coats were made in the US until 1997, when overhead forced them to source labor overseas. In 2006 they sold to new ownership. London Fog Maincoats Mens trench coat in Navy size 38 Reg. A 38 should be a medium, but I have it listed as a large due to its actual fit. I haven’t been able to date it, but the Maincoats line was introduced in 1954, and it quickly became their signature product.The coat is in great shape for something that could be 70 years old, but there is a little wear. The zipper works smoothly and the removable liner is in great condition. The buttons are secure, the liner for the outer shell is in good shape, and no tears in any armpits. The wear is on the seat on the back, and on the bottom of the forearms. See last 3 pics. There is also a small hole on the left side 2” from the bottom and about 5” from the side seam.
