As time went by the need for the angled heel influenced the design and the angled cuban heel was born. Many of the early pioneers who wore this type of boot lived in the Rocky Mountains and worked with pack horses. When they were going out to work with their horses, they would don their "packer" boots. And thus originated the name. Today, the name remains the same but Heritage has handed this style a glorious twist of fate.
