Original handcrafted and signed false faces carving by Cadaha’Wenoda (‘Same Voice’), Onondaga Nation, Wolf Clan, Six Nations Confederacy, Iroquois, Haudenosaunee, Ontario, Canada. Approx 4x3” Weight: 14.3 oz Marked: 105-SN-2453-209 The false faces refer to the creation story of the Haudenosaunee. The earth had just been created when the Creator was challenged by a stranger, (Eithiso:da, ‘Old Broken Nose). To test who was really the creator of the Earth, they agreed to attempt to move a mountain. The Creator was proved true by moving a mountain so close to Ethiso:da that he smashed his face into it. Ethiso:da false faces idols are considered useful in protection from disease and storms. Excellent pre-owned condition; no cracks, chips, or other damage.
