The Taxco mark is on the back. 1946-1955 Taxco Mexico Eagle's Head (No Numbering) Marked Silver Hinged Bracelet with Mother of Pearl and Abalone, set in off-white enamel. Taxco is primarily known for its fine silver handwork and other crafts, being recognized as the outstanding center for silverwork in the Western Hemisphere; the ancient craft was revived there in the 1930s by a U.S. resident, William Spratling. The Mexican government, between the years 1946-1955, mandated that all silver jewelry be marked with the government's eagle's head mark.
