Vintage Corning/Amana Browning Skillet w/Lid

The Amana Corporation in conjunction with the Corning Corporation developed a way to brown food in a microwave. This skillet can not only be used in the microwave but also the oven. It is a very versatile piece of bakeware. The browning casserole dish measures approximately 10” x 10”. It is about 2 ½” deep. Here are no chips or cracks anywhere on this casserole dish. There are some slight scratches on the ‘feet’ at the bottom. The lid measures about 10” x 10”. The lid has no chips or cracks. This retro casserole dish is in very good condition. {The Amana Corporation is an American brand of household appliances. It was founded in 1934 by George Foerstner as The Electrical Equipment Co. in Middle Amana, Iowa, to manufacture commercial walk-in coolers. Amana was acquired in 1965 by Raytheon, which had invented the microwave oven in 1947, and introduced the commercial Radarange Model 1611 in 1954.
