This is a 1 ½ quart vintage CorningWare Casserole dish. It measures approximately 7” x 7” (not including handles0 and is about 3” deep. There are no cracks or chips anywhere on this casserole dish. It has been gently loved and has some wear on the bottom. Otherwise, it is in very good condition. {Corning Ware, also written CorningWare, was originally a brand name for a unique glass-ceramic (Pyroceram) cookware resistant to thermal shock. It was first introduced in 1958 by Corning Glass Works (later Corning Inc.) in the United States. Pyroceram has properties similar to glass and ceramic, and CorningWare was advertised as being capable of being taken from the refrigerator or freezer and used directly on the stovetop, in an oven or microwave, under a broiler, and go into a dishwasher. In 1953 S. Donald Stookey of the Corning Research and Development Division accidentally discovered Pyroceram, a white glass-ceramic material capable of withstanding a thermal shock of up to 450 K (840 °F).} The item in the photos is the item you will receive.
