Vintage from the 1940s
Unsure of the maker of this unique piece, but its style is reminiscent of mid-century Shawnee pottery. A standing black woman (possibly Native American) is holding a small black bowl. By her feet sits a larger cauldron or bowl.
The cauldron would make a great cache pot or trinket bowl, or even a small planter. It looks hand painted and glazed. There are no identifying markings on it, except for the three hand painted (what look like) Greek letters on her robe.
In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or fleabites
I've tried to figure out her purpose, but I'm not sure if I'm correct. Either way, she's unique and would make an excellent alter item for offerings or candles.
