Incredibly soft long shearling lambskin - leather exterior, uncut fur lining. Three buckles create ultimate versatility - wear them up for warmth, down for style, or turned over to show the gorgeous shearling lining. Soles are hard leather with wooden heels - these are traditionally made boots - resole indefinitely and they'll last you forever. Side opening for easy-wearing. This is the tall (knee-high) version of this boot in black. They have never been worn - not sure if I can find the box.

onceuponathyme @electtralyyte Thank you... I've been admiring yours, as well. Clearly we share a FP addiction. :-) Unfortunately, not ALL my jobs can be dressed from FP, AS, and my vintage closet, but . . . lots of them can! :-) tee hee

19boutique
19boutique Definitely an addiction! I do love all saints but don't have much access to it unless I go to Miami. It's funny because I do some styling for a local photographer and MUA. I'm always trying to use as much FP as possible in them

onceuponathyme AS is now available online in the US, so that's where I do most of mine, although occasionally I'm in SoHo. There's one down the street in San Francisco, but I very rarely get there... online never closes... :-) FP has great stuff for styling for photos. Movies sometimes don't work - their stuff is so .... FP. Not a lot of "classic" looks. :-)

19boutique It's all good! I still forget to tag. Nice! Haha that could be dangerous for me. I'll check out the AS site

onceuponathyme @electtralyyte They are having their sale (AS)... but I must say, their prices have gone UP and their style factor DOWN since these came out... I miss the OLD All Saints.

19boutique Aww really? That's sad to hear. I haven't been in the actual store in about 3 years. I love their leather so much!
Feb 01Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme I still love their shoes and boots, @electtralyyte, but their dresses this season are shapeless without much interest at all. The whole deconstructed, historical feel is pretty much gone this year. And they haven't had any truly interesting full length gowns for awhile, either .... :-( Seems like when the recession hit they started offering fewer choices, and using far less fabric.

19boutique I just got a chance to check on the site. Wow! What a difference in design! What happened?? Most of the clothes, especially the dresses are a total letdown & they lack originality too. There also seems to be a lot fewer pieces than I remember. I was wondering if they got a new creative director so I did a little research. You may know this already since you seem to have invested quite a bit in AS 😉 Turns out they did. I found a few articles about their new one. Looks like he was hired about a year and a half ago to kind of turn the brand around. His focus is to change the silhouette from the more dramatic layering to basic, cleaner lines. That makes me sad. Not that I'm able to shop there a lot, but the clothes and shoes that I do have are some of my favorites! Do you happen to get any men's shoes or clothing or do you mostly style for women? Right now I'm looking for the Demise/Damisi boots for my boyfriend.
Feb 04Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @electtralyyte I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is sad about this! Plus, it makes it that much harder to sell my precious vintage but NEW pieces... because I know they cannot be replaced with new styles. :-( I do have pieces for men, and costume them in plays and films, but generally their styles are much more basic ... and if they're not I tend to use (if you can believe this!) thrift store finds, women's clothing that I repurpose, and hand made things . . . it's just too hard and expensive to get men's clothing that is truly unique in character. At least, for prices I'm willing to pay. I put SO much more of my budget towards women ... because I always think I'll wear it later. Hah!
Feb 04Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @electtralyyte We need to find out where the OLD director has gone and follow him/her! If you discover that let me know... and I will do the same!
Feb 04Reply
19boutique
19boutique I would definitely be hesitant to sell those older pieces, especially now! Are you just not wearing them much? I did see that you mentioned some you forgot to return. As far as the men's clothes go that's completely understandable. There seems to be a gap in the market with unique, affordable pieces. My bf asked me to try to to make him some shirts with the cuff detail like the thermals but with a more masculine twist. I told him I'd try! The original creators of AS went on to found Bolongaro Trevor. There is definitely similarity in design. The director before their current one, Hannah Coffin left to start her own label. She started out at Karen Millen which was also co-founded by the AS chairman. The chair mismanaged the company and put it 53 million pounds in debt! It was about to collapse in 2011, but was purchased by another company. That's when they totally revamped their line with the current director. Hannah Coffin launched her line last year, Needle & Thread, which is sold on ASOS

onceuponathyme @electtralyyte I have some I wear ALL The time... but many others I have never worn, either because I got duplicates in different sizes and forgot to return, or because they are too big and... I forgot to return. You have all the info! And THAT'S why I've seen some ASOS stuff I like. THANK YOU! I love knowing this!

itslwl
itslwl Ladies hello ! I read this entire thread. @electtralyyte followed you ASAP based on the knowledge of AS history. New to the AS game but with my few trips have notices especially the clean silhouette they are gearing towards of late. Rather than the fluid, drapey, steam punk vintage look they began with (from the samples and Bloomingdales floor length gowns relegated to the outlet.) it's funny it reminds me of the early US foray of French Connection, Karen Millen, and aritzia. Why does everything tame into the gap basics. And throw a few beads on it. Man...

Feb 06Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @itslwl :-) I've had them awhile, but never worn them, so ... that's just sad. I have the shorter ones, and I think I'll keep them. . . Agree re the new AS ... nothing much I'm interested in. I DO love the B. Trevor stuff - although they're only in the UK and shipping and their return policy is pretty rough...
Feb 06Reply
itslwl
itslwl Ok! Sticking to the AS leathers, silk and stalking the outlet for the originals. There are 4 dresses I wish you were here to snap up. So intricate --fagotting, backless inner drape and intriguing cutouts. I need to restrain myself from snapping those up (in size US 10/12) and tailor them to fit. Need to sleep. I'll send you my number. :)
Feb 06Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme hahahahaha @itslwl - me, too! So tired and I have to work tomorrow. Where are you? What outlet? I didn't know anyone still had the old AS, so . . . sounds like I need to pay a visit! :-)
Feb 06Reply
19boutique
19boutique @itslwl hi! I just like research & knowing what's going on haha. I do hate when brands go so basic unless, of course, that's what they've been known for all along. From what I've seen, the new director had actually gotten a lot of positive feedback for "turning the brand around". Obviously they didn't appreciate the aesthetics of the original pieces. There's an AS outlet?? That would be heaven!!
Feb 06Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @electtralyyte, @itslwl ... Agree! HEAVEN!

cmurray909 @onceuponathyme Hi! Would yo be interested in trading your All Saints tall shearling boots for my Marni platform boots? Thanks
Nov 18Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @cmurray909 thanks, Carrie. I very rarely trade from my costumer closet. It would have to be for something I just had to have for a film... I'm currently looking for a specific Fluevog shoe I would trade a lot for! But I do a pretty good job of keeping my own closet separate from my wardrobe closet. :-)

k8yfeld
k8yfeld Ok, really long feed for such beautiful boots! I didn't read everything, but any idea what the calf size is? I have that wide calf problem :-(, if they actually buckle together things could work out between us, but if they zip and are regualr size <15 1/2", we won't.

Dec 21Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme I'm an 8.5 and they fit me, but you definitely would want thick socks, @snoman1200
Dec 22Reply
onceuponathyme
onceuponathyme @k8yfeld Hi, Katie... The calf size is completely adjustable via the straps. The "leg" of the boot wraps around, and you tighten the straps to hold it where you want it. The straps are like belts - they fit into loops, and can be completely removed. My calf size is 17" - I have the big calf problem, too. There's no zipper here.
