Extraordinary and rare. These 90’s Pradas have a smoky lucite heel with a graceful, elegant curve. The upper is Perla (pearl/platinum) satin. Cinderella shoes for the modern woman.
Fun fact: A woman at Bergdorf’s offered me cash for these as I checked out. They were that coveted, and still are. Worn once, in exquisite condition. Slight peeling of footbed. Keeping above $500 for buyer/seller protection. A dream shoe.

@wendyinnola I used to love in Japan and was too big to shop there. The J Peterman catalogs were my lifeline to civilization! I would come back to NYC to shop once or twice a year. I’d go crazy at Bergdorf’s. Those were fun times 💸💸💸

@nikoneko Amazing! I so wanted to go to Japan back in my youth!!! The modern architecture there!!!!! Sheesh!! I was a finalist in the oh so competitive Luce Fellowship competition in grad school—- was picked by UVA as their only nominee University-wide which in itself was an amazing honor!!

@nikoneko I made it through two more cuts nationally, and had all intentions of going to work for Tadao Ando for a year.......didn’t make the final cut nor did any architects or candidates who weren’t future business/ law folk. I don’t think I’ve ever quite gotten over it!!

so funny, in 1989 when Prada made the velvet red & black platform sandals, I was at the ABA (Amer Bookseller Assoc) Conference. I am from Denver. I had lived in LA after college & worked believe it or not for Miramax aka Harvey Weinstein. I couldn't stand him, he made me gag. Back to story. Denver's Neiman Marcus was a C store Chicago's is a A store, I went up the escalator and their they were. I bought both. Never worn them, I have sat them out & just looked at them. Now I buy for clients. xo J
