madonnaferris Itโ€™s a cute ring. At todays prices of gold it would sell for $320 for 5 grams. That is what you might get from a refinery.

purplebubblekt @madonnaferris ~ Yes, that is true. The vintage of this ring makes it quite rare in today's market. I do not know of a place where you can buy actually 14k GOLD jewelry for per gram prices though. Do YOU? Katie

madonnaferris @purplebubblekt Katie, some better jewelry stores will by it for what is known as โ€œmeltโ€. Donโ€™t go to a pawn shop. They will try to purchase it for 80percent of the melt price. And turn around and sell it to a smelter or refinery for the full melt price.

madonnaferris @purplebubblekt if you wanted to BUY gold jewelry for melt plus 10-20% you would need to go to a pawn shop. They will bargain but will still make a profit and you will get a god deal on a piece you love for a fraction of retail. Hope this helps you.
