This Canon digital camera is in excellent physical condition. It powers on but its got some kind of battery sensor issue. Ive tried it with brand new batteries and the camera always says that the batteries are low and need to be replaced. As soon as you try to take a picture it shuts off. Other than that the camera appears to be functioning properly.

jakemunzaa08 Hi when you say “it shuts off when you take photo” does that mean every time I take a photo the camera turns off or did you mean the notification of low battery go away?

darren_free @jakemunzaa08 i mean the camera completely shuts off. Something wrong with a battery sensor I’d guess cause I’ve tested it with multiple pairs of new batteries.

gowithonapicnic Hi, when you take the batteries out can you see any damage or residue in the compartment? Maybe dirt, or a damaged pin?

darren_free @gowithonapicnic no there’s nothing like that in there. It looks clean. I’m not sure what the issue is with the batteries. Maybe needs some higher powered rechargeable batteries but I’m not sure.

gowithonapicnic @darren_free a common problem w/ this camera model is that the battery contacts at the bottom lose strength and can’t push the batteries up so that they evenly make contact at the top. Sometimes if you push the sensors up a little with tweezers it fixes it! It might just be that they need higher strength batteries though
