This dress is velvet, so of course it’s soft. The weight of the velvet makes it hang and move beautifully. It has a flattering empire waist. I’m 5’7” and it falls a little above the knee on me. It is a cotton/poly blend. Made in India. Machine wash. Hang to dry ( at least that’s what I did ). It’s a funky little dress! I do not find any stains, tears, or worn spots on the velvet!
