disneygurl2u @juliekattke I tested it as non magnetic. Stainless steel and sterling silver are non magnetic. Costume jewelry is magnetic however.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke I am not pretty sure though it is sterling silver as if it was stainless steel, the silver would not darken like sterling silver does.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke oops, I meant I am pretty sure it is sterling silver and yes, sometimes jewelry can be unmarked sterling silver. It certainly is a unique piece!

juliekattke @disneygurl2u yes, I’m familiar with high end unmarked sterling…. but sterling-plated stuff is also non-magnetic, since brass and copper are also non-magnetic.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke it has never discolored with a brassy color since I have had it for about 20 years and does not leave any marks on the skin.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke is there a way to completely determine it is solid sterling silver. I know it is non magnetic, has no brassy color on it that would show signs that it is plated, never has left any coloring on my skin and I have sensitive skin, has darkened like sterling silver would do. That is what I know about the metal. Even if by a small chance it is not sterling silver, this is a unique vintage bracelet. I have had it for about 20 years and even then I got it from a relative of mine.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke perhaps it is sterling silver over alloy. But I find there is no concrete way to know for sure. Even some silver plated jewelry is marked 925. But I state just what I know about the metal.

disneygurl2u @juliekattke however I doubt it as my skin breaks out if it was not solid sterling silver and I have never had a problem when wearing it.
