mommy387 @amandaintexas I'm so tired of it. And I have actually seen people fall for it and was screaming at my tablet. People are ridiculous with these scams
Jun 28Reply
amandaintexas
amandaintexas @mommy387 I know. It just makes me so angry these thieves prey on people. I have seen too many seemingly intelligent people fall for these things time and again.

carson1091 are you talking about the people that comment to email them? People fall for it?
Jun 28Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @carson1091 Yes I have actually seen people fall for it. And I have seen it done where someone will say if you want a better price on my item, email me or call. People will then do it and come back and say they never got their item but the person got their money.

Jul 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @kh6861 Yep. That's why I check love notes and reviews before I purchase. I am also careful about poshers that post pics from the internet without showing the actual item as well. Some people will list without having the actual product. I have mostly seen that with more expensive items tho.
Jul 02Reply
hazeymae11
hazeymae11 @mommy387 well my worst nightmare came true !! Negotiated with a Posher for nearly 1/2 hour on NEW W TAGS clothes :( Bundle came to an agreement of $150. She opened a case on me & it's been since the ,16th. No return, and no reply from Posh !! Plus she blocked me. She will.end up.w free clothes right ? Ugh
Jul 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @kh6861 Oh my! Wow. Posh needs to do a better job of protecting sellers in these situations. We all want to sell our things, but I have actually chosen not to sell to some people that I felt leary of. I look to see what kind of comments and love notes a potential buyer has left before I deal with them.
Jul 02Reply
hazeymae11
hazeymae11 @mommy387 And I did that !! She has positive feedback & Gives ♥️ notes .... Not cool tho. If it doesn't fit, it's not my fault. We went over each listing. Measurements & All.!! Just frustrating :(
Jul 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @kh6861 Do you by any chance video tape your packages before shipping? I have heard others doing that, and I may need to start. I have heard too many stories similar to yours
Jul 02Reply
hazeymae11
hazeymae11 @mommy387 No I don't. I don't think it would matter. Lord knows I've purchased on here & 2x the box was crushed open. One item I had saved up posh funds for was a pair of boots. I got one boot :( Posh did refund us both, but anything can happen once it leaves your house. You would have to video also the entire journey of the box.

cjregalia
cjregalia Hey. I just have to comment on this. I was on poshmark years ago and I loved it. I just made a new account this year and poshmark as a system has improved, but the quality of the sellers has gone way down! Too many ppl trying to get rich quick. And too many fake pics of items that are terrible quality in real life.
Aug 09Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @cjregalia Yes you have to be careful. I never buy anything that just shows the stock picture of an item, unless the actual item is pictured as well. There are definitely some sellers on here just trying to make a quick buck, so I try to find people who are actually making this a business and take it seriously. I always check reviews for credibility. I hope you have a positive experience this time tho.

marcelle66
marcelle66 @mommy387 hi, I have a concern question. I purchased a blouse from a seller and it was listed as a size L, but I received a size medium, I contacted seller who told me to purchase two additional items a discounted price plus shipping.
Oct 18Reply
marcelle66
marcelle66 Con't I was just wondering if this is how these issues are handled I Posh. I don't think that I should have to pay for an error that I didn't make. Please help me to understand because I've purchased quite a few items on here and now I'm almost afraid to. tia
Oct 18Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @marcelle66 Did you release the seller's funds? Anytime you receive something that is not as described, immediately report it to posh, and do not release the seller's funds. But you need to do it within three days. If you already released the funds, the best thing to do is resell the top or gift it to someone.
Oct 18Reply
mommy387
mommy387 The first thing to do after you receive a package, is to open and inspect it. Make sure it is as pictured and as described. Poshmark notifies you when your package has arrived, and to accept the package. If it is not what was described, poshmark will not let the seller get the money and will refund you. Posh will proably ask you to send pictures of the mistake.
Oct 18Reply
mommy387
mommy387 So please don't be afraid to purchase on here because of that. The seller definitely shouldn't be doing that and sounds shady.
Oct 18Reply
marcelle66
marcelle66 @mommy387 I accepted the package and didn't realize that doing so released the funds. Pretty much everything else has been fine, with the exception of somethings being a child/junior size and listed as XL...LOL. Thanks for responding...I really appreciate it!
Oct 18Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @marcelle66 People need to pay attention and list appropriately. But do not hesitate to ask before you buy if it is a woman's large or junior's. I know you shouldn't have to do that, but it is what it is. But yes, for future references, anytime you accept a package it releases funds. Make sure everything is correct before doing so.

jsd99
jsd99 The "scammers" are mostly bots...I love trolls and scammers...I texted one of those people and they are hilarious. I told them I was in his city and to meet him in his mother's basement. Lol. He got so mad that he called me a Ni**er, because I said that he should turn himself in because his scam game has become so lame he's resorted to scamming women selling clothes. Good times.
Nov 07Reply
jsd99
jsd99 NIgerians and Indians are goat scammers...These guys are pretty juvenile..If you happen to fall for this poshmark scam, then all hope may be lost for you. We've learned from the Yahoo email era days where the Nigerian scammers were in full attack asking money because they were poor or sick. Bad grammar and robotic style is a dead giveaway.
Nov 07Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @jsd99 I wondered if they were bots, but a few people have actually emailed and had conversations with these people, who were trying to scam them for their info. I guess they figure new people are so excited to make a sell, that they are an easy target.

worldcollection What exactly are you claiming is a scam? Please inform.
Dec 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @worldcollection Sometimes people will ask a posher to email them or even text about the condition of an item or something along those lines. These people do not care abt said item, they are trying to get personal info to scam you. Vice-versatile, I saw one case where someone gave payment info to a so called posher via text, and never received the item, but the scammer got the money.

Dec 30Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @lillylife I may need to update this post with that info. I haven’t heard of that one. Thanks for the heads up on it. That sounds fishy that posh would send an email saying that. Like you said, most everything happens through the app, not email.
Jan 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @lillylife exactly. If someone asks me 20 questions about an item, or ask for additional photos, I do not mind. I have gotten outta bed at 2 a.m because someone asked for a measurement at that time. I do not mind because I have nothing to hide. Sellers should treat this as a business and buyers need to be bold in finding out what they are paying for.

sdevilliers
sdevilliers True! Also poshers can be scammers too. I purchased from a posher whom claimed “NWT” on Gymboree clothes. None of the clothes was new, so disappointed. I didn’t open a case on her because I was able to get stains off by washing but it’s sad that people false advertise on here taking old pictures of when they first bought the clothes but sending something else. I don’t give bad reviews so I still gave her 5 stars but added that in the comments.
Jan 05Reply
sdevilliers
sdevilliers Since then, I have been very thankful to find honest sellers that sell NWT and are honest. So recently, I gave one a shoutout because her clothes was amazing and exactly what she posted
Jan 05Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @sdevilliers It’s people like that that give poshers a bad rep. Smh. Fortunately most people I see do photograph flaws and state it. You probably should have not accepted the order. That’s unfair to deceive someone like that.

Jan 10Reply
nia1113
nia1113 @mommy387 Yes, I have noticed they tend to target newer Poshers and they'll typically comment in the higher priced listings!! 😠 One other tidbit of info: often times their closet name is jibberish~something like @jjjhhrtuycvvbe you ever notice that, too?!!!! I'll laugh so hard if that is a real closet name, too!! 😂
Jan 11Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @nia1113 😂 😂 Now that I think of it that is so true. That’s how you know it’s a fake account lol. They can’t even think up a legit name.
Jan 11Reply
nia1113
nia1113 @mommy387 Lol, yes! It almost makes me think that the original account is computer generated somehow? Not sure how a scam even works, but it would probably mean they first hack into a system & have a generalized statement ('please email me whether this is still available') ..then it goes to an actual email somewhere??? Who knows, but when I first started Poshing in December of 2015, there really weren't any of these emails around, seems like they're everywhere now!! 😭😭
Jan 11Reply
nia1113
nia1113 @mommy387 .. Saddest part, as you stated, is that there are innocent Poshers who actually get tricked by it. The scammers are really crafty in the wording of their comments, but, I just feel so bad that we live in a world where it is some people's main "job" to trick people and steal from them! Not cool! 😟
Jan 11Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @nia1113 My brother is an officer, and once he was on a case where he had to follow a thief. This person would get up every morning at 6 a.m like he had a job, only to go around stealing all day. Some people are 🥜 lol. Happy New year 🎈🎊

mommy387
mommy387 @denim_camo My comment about the stock photos are more geared toward people who have used items but only post stock photos. I too have boutique items with just the stock photo. Sometimes people will post just a pic from the internet, and the item is not in that
Jan 25Reply
mommy387
mommy387 Condition. I also saw someone posting photos from the internet, and did not have the actual item. That is why I personally would need to see the actual item if it is not brand new.
Jan 25Reply
mommy387
mommy387 I do appreciate how you run your page as a business, as I try to run mine as one as well, but mainly on this post I’m trying to warn people about those who ask to be emailed about an item. They are the scammers I’m referring to.
Jan 25Reply
mommy387
mommy387 I doubt anyone would come on your page thinking you are a scammer lol. I’m certainly not referring to pictures like you have. I wish I would have taken a screenshot of what I mean. But I’m glad you get where I’m coming from.
Jan 25Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fantasticsale Hello. When you go on someone’s page, click where it says about. It will show you the love notes (if any) that someone has gotten or given.
Jan 27Reply
mommy387
mommy387 Once you make a purchase and it has arrived, check the merchandise to make sure it is as described. Then log into your account and posh will ask you how many stars you would like to give the seller, and if you have any additional comments. You can choose to leave a comment or not, but if you do, it shows on the seller’s page as a “ love note.”
Jan 27Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fashionablewon I cannot stand when people do that on someone’s page. Sometimes you may just need to delete and relist the item so the comments are no longer there. I know it takes time, but that may be the best thing to do.
Jan 27Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fashionablewon Let me know if you ever need help. 😉

nikler
nikler You're awesome. Thank u for making the unaware aware and for taking a stand against these people. I also have a post explaining what they do and warning people and a few words to them as well!!! Icky lazy soulless people they are
Feb 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @nikler I will have to find your post. Thank you for warning people as well! I cannot stand people that can do that to fellow human beings.
Feb 02Reply
nikler
nikler @mommy387 I'll find it and tag you if you want. They are horrible!! They tried getting me on here and also over the phone claiming to be the IRS. On here it's always email me etc etc. Hello!!! There's a buy button and an offer button I snap when they try to do it to me. I'm a pretty easy going person but that's one thing that gets me boiling I've stopped a couple people from working w them outside of Poshmark and I will keep it up(: pathetic jerks
Feb 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @nikler Wow that’s wild!! I know people are excited to get that first sale, but that is exactly why it’s best to play by posh’s rules. Yes tag me on yours plz. The nerve of someone claiming to be a government official 🤦‍♀️
Feb 02Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 awesome post. Thank you for all the information poshers. I am a newbie and have seen these scammers on other platforms and I didn’t think Poshmark had them also. I haven’t come across anyone like that yet but I am now ready in the event I ever do! I will definitely share this and like for future reference to self ❤️
Feb 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess Thank you. I’m glad this post is serving its purpose. This is overall a good site, but the bad people always have to try and ruin something. If you ever need any help with your closet, please ask.
Feb 02Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 Thank you and yes 1 more question. How come some people list their items and then it says Not For Sale? It doesn’t have the SOLD flag but it’s not for sale. Does that mean they are holding it for someone who might be interested?
Feb 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess They may have sold it on another site, or they may have added it to someone’s package as an extra gift or something like that, and sometimes yes they could just be holding it. They don’t delete the listing, because it still keeps a record of sold items.
Feb 02Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 Now it makes sense! Thank you sooo much....eventually I’ll get the hang of this. My daughter put me on to this bc Im always just giving my clothes away and she says mom that’s money what are you doing. So let’s see how this turns out bc I just give them away to get rid and make room and now it’s like i gotta keep them around anyway lol. I think I’ll put them in her closet somewhere until they sell lol🤷🏻‍♀️😂
Feb 02Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess Lol she sounds so much like me. I tell everyone to give me their clothes if they don’t want it. That IS money lol. You will get the hang of it. It took me a couple months to start getting steady sales. You have very nice items, so they should start rolling in.

timzwife Thank you for the advice. I haven't had this email thing yet, but I have had someone wanting to trade. My mom is a long time posher and told me not to trade. But I also read through the comments and will start reading love notes now. I have bought a few bundles that were not 100% as described. :(
Feb 16Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @timzwife I personally do not trade, but there are some honest traders on here. Overall I like posh a lot but there are hiccups at times. If you ever get someone trying to take a transaction of poshmark at all, do not do it. Happy poshing😘😘

blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 Gm quick question...if I have shoes to send off that are already in the shoe box can i just wrap them in the brown package wrap or do I need to still put them in another box?
Feb 20Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess It’s your preference. I have sent them out both ways.
Feb 20Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess But I do feel like putting them in another box adds an extra layer of protection.
Feb 20Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 good bc she purchased them Sunday and today would make 2 days so I don’t want to keep stalling if I can just wrap them in the brown paper and drop them off. I wanna stay within the posh guidelines but none of my postal boxes that I picked up fit this sneaker box🤷🏻‍♀️
Feb 20Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 which is the best size postal box then to be in the safe side then?
Feb 20Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 or where can i pick up a plain brown box from?
Feb 20Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess Sorry for the late reply. I have used the big square boxes from the post office or you can use any generic brown box you may have at home. Just rip off any other labels.
Feb 20Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @blvd_princess You would only be out of guideline if you waited 7 days.
Feb 20Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 no worries and tx u . I think i have a box somewhere here then I’ll just wrap them in that 🤷🏻‍♀️
Feb 20Reply
mommy387
mommy387 It’s fine if you go ahead and wrap them in the paper. Just for future reference if you haven’t already, go to USPS and order different size boxes. They will ship to your house for free and the boxes are free. I like to stock up on boxes because you never know what you may have to ship.
Feb 20Reply
blvd_princess
blvd_princess @mommy387 yes i have ordered every size except one that fits this box lol...the struggle is real🤦🏻‍♀️

kimsocial This is surely something to bookmark. I bought a coach purse a few months ago. After I moved to Sunny Florida I realized I no longer needed a Burgundy handbag. I mean it was gorgeous. I resisted it on posh and some nice ladies ran the number for me and it was a fake! So let down and it looked so so real. Nice to know I have to place to look people up if it happens in the future. very helpful. - Kimberly xo

Mar 07Reply

mommy387 @italia63 Poshmark must have deleted their page if the comment disappeared. They should have at least done their research first to know that you were the shipper before trying to scam someone lol.

mommy387
mommy387 @cindiz44 😫😳😱 I did not even know that was possible. My mouth is literally open. That is the craziest story i have heard yet. Whoever that is shouldn’t play those types of games with people. That could get them killed. That is unbelievable. I hope they were caught😱😱😱

Apr 28Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fritzsmomnotu Unfortunately Poshmark will not help you on the purchases of mystery boxes. Their policy says to buy them at your own risk. It is quite unfair that this has happened. The only recourse you have would be to resell the items on your page.
Apr 28Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fritzsmomnotu Please never accept a package without opening and checking it first. You have 3 days to do so. You do not have to do it right away. I hope you are able to resell the items and recoup your money.

Apr 28Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fritzsmomnotu Oh yes Poshmark will cancel if it took that long to ship. I would just resell the items on your page. I’m sure the seller would not want to deal with you returning them, as you guys would have to cover the shipping expenses out of pocket. You could just message the person and say these clothes are not my size, so I am reposting on my page.
Apr 28Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @fritzsmomnotu Aww Thank you. I can tell you are kind and have had quite a bit of patience in dealing with this situation. You could of been mean to the person about it but You weren’t. That shows great character! 😘😘

soflolor Thank you so very much for sharing this! I created an account in 2015, then removed all my stuff to start selling on Tradesy. I came back on here cause my friend referred me and Tradesy now holds all earnings for 21 days after an item is delivered then takes over a week if you want money transferred, but I do like how there wasn’t an scamming on their site. I can be too trusting, so again, thank you for posting! 🙏🏻

mommy387 @cantamama567 I will admit Poshmark has some flaws, but if you follow their guidelines you shouldn’t have any problems. Shady people are everywhere. Just watch out. I honestly haven’t seen it happening too much lately. Maybe they caught on that people weren’t falling for it. 😊😊
Jun 08Reply

damaralph
damaralph @hazeymae11 I recently experienced the same thing. I sold a boutique item, sent the Posher pics, measurements, the whole package. I always take pics before I ship. She claimed that the romper had slits everywhere. For sure what happened is that it didn’t fit her so she claimed it as damaged. I sent all pics of the romper in perfect condition and they took her side🤬 She has over 10k followers and is and is an ambassador!
Aug 31Reply
mommy387
mommy387 @damaralph You know, I have been noticing that as well. It has happened to me more than once, and I know it is because an item didn’t fit how they imagined. I try to take it with a grain of salt and move on, but its difficult when you end up losing money. I do like your sign about videotaping everything. I may start doing that as well.
Aug 31Reply
hazeymae11
hazeymae11 @damaralph it's not fair It's happened a few times to me & mostly I win, but ... When I don't I get really upset :( Sorry it happens to you also.!!
Aug 31Reply
damaralph
damaralph @mommy387 so sorry it had happened to you as well. What obviously is not understood by many Poshers is the amount of time and effort we put into taking pics of our items, posting size charts, posting exact measurements with pics of asked. So frustrating. Unfortunately now I take both pics and video of the inside and outside of all my boutique items, and zoom into the seams. 🤦‍♀️
