anoliver Not so much...😂😂 When I came back from Kenya, I got rid of TONS of stuff and lived bare bones, but I've slowly built up a "generous" collection of clothes again🙈 You can take a girl out of the USA, but you can't take the USA outta the girl apparently😣

I'm sure being over in Kenya was a life changing experience and I would love to know more about this and learn ways it shaped you emotionally and what this did for your life. ❤️ I can only imagine the adjectives you can use to describe it but basically sum it up with humbling. I too purged my life from "stuff" after traveling and seeing areas of the world which made me realize how frivolous I was living and what you wrote is so true.

landerites @anoliver I too have acquired most if not all of it back over time. We haven't taken a trip like this since our daughter was born and when we do I'm sure I'll purge again......and probably will acquire it all over again. Sigh.

I know what you were "allowed" to write (500 characters or less) does not allow people to understand the impact this made and the eye opening experience which you can not necessarily formulate into words.

anoliver I still remember how hard it was on Haven when I went to Kenya, I don't want to put her through that again... But the call is definitely in my heart... landerites @anoliver , I too am so happy we have connected. I'm sorry you're not feeling well today. I have an autoimmune as well. Luckily I have been symptom free (for the most part) for two whole months. This is really great for me because after the birth of our daughter in 2012 I had numerous corrective surgeries on my GI tract.

landerites @anoliver I actually just finished my last chemo treatment last Thursday. I am feeling better each and every day. We are changing our diet to full macrobiotic. It's a great transition but definitely takes diligence.

landerites @anoliver I am better, I still have a ways to go, but we are getting there. It's been a tough tough journey but I have learned so much about myself and also made mistakes which I have learned from. Overall I would say this has been enlightening. I'm sure you are able to empathize with this because your condition is on going which makes you self reflect and become introspective with your life.

landerites @anoliver I believe I had to go through this, to also help people who are unable to make sense of it or do not have the mental capacity to deal with it. I don't know exactly why but I do know it has taught me to really appreciate waking up everyday. Stressors do not affect me the way they used to and I am really finding my inner peace. I do feel fortunate and finally feel deserving of a great life. 💕 I hope you had a beautiful weekend and a fantastic Monday. Much love.

landerites @anoliver I thought I was on the verge of yet another stomach episode but I kept breathing and focusing on it. I did this for almost an hour and I am feeling much better. Whew, I think I'm in the clear. Yes, I have always been private and sometimes I think it can be torture. I get stuck in my head and sometimes that's not a good place.
