thegoldenegg @mmadonna40 Hi, can you explain direct shares? It doesn’t make sense (to me) to share to someone’s bundle. Why would I want to do that and isn’t it pushy? I’ve had some sellers create bundles or style me! That is so off putting. I guess I just don’t understand the concept of direct sharing. Thanks!

A buyer added an item to their bundle and then made an offer. I want to counter and offer discounted shipping but it won't let me. I had to decline and then create a new offer w/discounted shipping. rockcandystyle @mmadonna40 It depends. It goes in waves. Right now all of a sudden my tank tops that have fun sayings on them are selling. I think that’s because people are home and looking for something comfortable and fun to wear. Jewelry has always been a strong seller. Same with shoes. I also do well with my bigger sizes vs. my smaller ones.

oceanea Best selling brand is “Anthropologie” (more a dept store name than a brand) but that seems to sell so I almost exclusively carry that. I think that is because of exposure through Poshmark parties with the theme “Anthropologie, Free People, Boho”. Jackets and blazers sold well in the fall/winter. A LOT of interest in my Home items but not a lot of sales.

My prices used to be a lot lower but that left me no negotiation room & it seems nobody will buy at the listed price no matter how low it is. I sell on another site & people send very reasonable offers or buy at listed when it’s a fair deal. I think it’s a PM mentality. It also takes a lot more work to sell here. Do know where I can find more info on the algorithm?

So we aren't strapped for cash and we still get separation anxiety. 😜 Also, my son has been amazing to have home with me. He helps me clean the house (yes it's actually true!) oceanea Honestly, I rarely drop the public price of my items. Because once I drop the price, I can’t really raise the price again without loosing the ability to offer deals to likers. I don’t know if this strategy works well to promote frequent or immediate sales, but with patience, someone does bite and buy my items at the advertised price or via the offer to likers or offers via bundles.

oceanea Instead, I rotate “flash sale” or “sale” items by changing the title of items to “Flash Sale: Offer $35 Pleated Wide leg pants”, for instance. But the actual sale price remains the same. This tells interested parties that they can make me an offer for $35 and I will accept. If I have anyone “like” the item during the sale period, I use the bundle feature to send the person an offer for $35....

oceanea This way, after a few days, I can change the title and take the “flash sale” out to indicate that the flash sale for that item is over. Trying to cull a customer following that jumps on my flash sale items rather than assuming I will always take that flash sale price. I won’t. Now or never, ya’all😂

We live in South Carolina and the thrift stores have gotten higher priced but the inventory has gotten bad. About 5 years ago my daughter could find all kinds of name brand nice clothes, but sadly we haven't lately. Your closet is great!😊

mmadonna40 @1cutiepie13 I totally agree with you regarding the thrift stores. They now pull good inventory and sell online. So it is difficult to find great deals. I'm not a wholesaler so I don't know much about it. But I do know that you will need to get a resell license from your state and you will have to keep good records and report income. Maybe someone else on this thread could provide more information... I'll ask. 💕🤗

You usually have to bundle a minimum of 3 listings to get a 5% discount! I’ve never received a shipping discount. And I have NEVER RECEIVED ASSISTANCE on how to market the items once the wholesaler gets my $248. And believe me, I have asked and researched all over PM FAQ, emailed PM, and GOOGLED for help!

atticchic @1cutiepie13 There are also ways to source online without doing wholesale. Check out YouTube. There are allot of videos on such subjects as sourcing and wholesale. I agree with the other Posher on about sourcing on the wholesale portal. It's not necessarily the way to go.

As far as wholesale I will never do it! It’s not for me! It is getting more challenging to find great merchandise thrifting since the pandemic! Thrift stores are not running as many sales near me & so my profit margin has decreased! I have to work harder to source!

At least, I would hope so! They haven’t changed it up for a long time! You could write to them and ask them about the brands that you feel they should feature!🥰🥰🥰

atticchic @aweglitz There was one video (youtuber) in particular that's a wealth of information regarding wanting to start up a boutique (on-line or brick and mortar) I'll look for you and get you her name. You would need to get a business license, EIN number etc...Another route to go is buying reseller lots that are big on other selling platforms ( namely merc...) on there you would just search reller lots or check out all the listings even by searching for wholesale as you have many people buying

atticchic @aweglitz (can't remember what it's called. Brain freeze..lol) but they take these larger lots that they buy and sell smaller ones. There's also Nicole State on Youtube that does videos about selling and was doing them on how she was sourcing during the pandemic ( thread up is another site to use to source though I think it can be hit or miss). I'll look for the name of the one with the info on boutiques and how to buy wholesale and get back to you on that. Personally I've only sourced on-line

There are many wonderful women on this site that are very willing to help which is wonderful. I'll also tag you in a listing of someone selling a small "wholesale" lot. It's a pretty decent price point, all NWT ( these are overstock/shelf pulls etc.. I believe) I've bought a couple from her ( though one was mainly all for me and whatever pieces I wasn't interested in keeping I put up for sale..lol

atticchic @aweglitz Nicole is awesome to watch! Mogi Beth is another one I've watched as it's really helpful learning about brands and whats hot. I have the name for you. It's Jance Chartae. She does YouTube videos on owning a Boutique and did one regarding how to source wholesale and gave some websites though these sites require a EIN number or such. I'm happy that I could help as I just love this community of helpful positive women!!

flosposhcloset I don't use most of the items people keep saying to do when they ship. I often use a reusable bag so that the customers can use it over and over, and a brown paper bag to ship the item. I write a cute note on the back of the bag. I've never had a complaint and also noticed people left more reviews after I started doing this.

I would keep sending them emails until you get a response! They are so slow to respond. They might close the case before you get to someone at PMHQ. You can try to message one of their employees on Poshmark too. Just go to their blog or IG account to find someone. Send messages there too!

busygirl88 @mmadonna40 Hi! I seen in a post someone asking for an easier way to share multiple items. I use an app for IOS, called ClosetMate. It’s made specifically for Poshmark. You can share 25 listings at a time at no charge and can also choose “share to party” options. It goes through & finds items that are fitting. You just have to keep the app open while sharing. You can pay to share more as well. Hope this helps! 💕

Based on the one experience I’ve had with something like this (not with a free item, but with a claim that made no sense), I was afraid that PM would find a reason to side with the buyer. I’m so sorry. Luckily the great majority of buyers and sellers on PM are lovely, but it only takes a few bad apples. Really sorry to hear this.

kareng977 @bespokenfor In my situation, when I received the item back, I checked it over to make sure it was in the same condition it had been (it was), and I sold it to another buyer who was thrilled with it. It was silly and a hassle, but it was fine in the end. Made me angry, though, because I knew (and had proof) that she was full of it. Again, really sorry PM made the wrong call again.

poshstreetluxe @mmadonna40 Frustrating, extreme low balling, lots of likes, but offers very slow. I feel like the culture has truly and radically changed, Poshmark seems completely “checked out”, bots acting as customer service, abandoned closets abound mentally, I’m struggling to find the daily joy. That being said, I’m sticking to my process, trying to stay positive, loving the “good” communicators, return customers, and remaining PFF’s, and really hoping that we will see some kind of turn around soon.

When you play along on a follow game like "The Secret Posher Game" in my closet @freddiesfind you will gain Aton of followers daily! Unlike old follow games, they don't really work.

I think we’ve all had enough crazy experiences here to know that model/platform consistency is practically non existent at this point and drives consumers to be distrustful, which in turn, leads to tentative or low offers. Not that that is the only reason, but I think this piece of the conversation is all together ignored

I definitely see more traffic and sales after I share my own closet. I have found more people are on PM around 11:30-12:00 pm EST, 3:30-4:00pm EST and then again around 9:30-10:00pm EST.

Personally, I don't use them just in case they do get in the way of my listing being searched or indexed. But others believe they may help. My advice to you is to always do your own research or testing! It's easy to test by removing some everyday instead of all at once for bigger closets... That way you may see a pattern whether they draw attention or not!💕😘

ohkaycloset @mmadonna40 I try to list daily, as possible. Regardless of the quantity, even if only 1 item. I also check for stale/ old listings and update them prior to relisting. There's some reason why the item didn't sale. I refuse to believe 999,999 people didnt like, want or need it, so it must be my listing! Lol Works for me and almost always results in a subsequent sale of something from my Boutique💜

jasminerose413 I love the tips but so many assume you know what things are. What is a direct share? How do I know how many to do or how to do it? How do I get more followers? How does the game work? I find a good way to draw people in is have something highly desirable that everyone wants and most can’t afford, it pulls them in your closet where they can see items they can afford. Pull comps up don’t bring them down. Note where something is made, it tells more than anything.

I know so much more about fashion than I did before I started.Many brands have affordable lines, some people don’t know or realize the difference. It can be tricky but again where is it made? Ex Ralph Lauren has labels of different levels based on label color. Missoni or M for Missoni is it target or is it luxury, hint: target made in China Luxury made in Italy. Just pay attention!
