rene_dallas @ottaffini thanks for your question. I’m not sure how much exactly but they sell their pieces directly to a fair trade market in Guajira peninsula. I’m sure they don’t charge nearly enough. If I made this piece by hand I would charge A LOT more! Of course it would take me 6 months so there’s that! LOL They do incredibly beautiful work and each piece is unique.

ottaffini @rene_dallas yea from gathering the reeds n grasses to the delicate weaving! I’ve woven many baskets of different varieties this weave takes way longer than making coconut fond baskets ,, I’m just leery of any fair trade, the weavers never get true pay 💰 Aloha
