itzposhable I had someone bust out the armpit lining in my jacket and then filed a claim. PM sent me the picture and I told them that it was really odd that the rips are symmetrical from one armpit to the other...

itzposhable my second Posh whammy... buyer just notified me that package appeared tampered with...all the extra stuff was in the box but the key items were missing... I emailed the PM and the instructed the buyer how to make a claim...this really sucks...how is a buyer supposed to protect themselves?

greenbucket That is sad! Ive had buyers "complain" item isnt as listed, when pictures are crystal clear. Another girl claimed she never got the diane von fursteburg boots..thankfully posh had my back. Another assh*#!$ gave me 1 star 4 impeccable $278, brand new coach wedges she paid $25, because coaches 8 1/2(clearly marked on shoe) didn't fit her! Arg. Most claims i knew were bogus. I do this for a living. My reputation is everything! Sad its necessary!!! Best to you!!!

fabloot @greenbucket , I started taking photos of the items in the shipping box and the label. I have had a good amount of sales from closets with no listings so it makes me leery. So far, so good! Phew!😰😓 I do wish that some buyers would leave feedback as I take great pride and effort to package nicely with custom tags, notes,gifts. . . . I don't ask because it seems rude if I were to do so!

twangboutique i always do this! I started having people try to scam me anytime i sold something expensive like lululemon or purchases over like $50, or some girls just for the heck of it! So i started filming every single shipment. its saved me a few times! if i see a buyer has opened a case with poshmark i immediately send pm a message with the pics/video

southerngal0724 Here's a thought for items that are "just a little tight". You can spray down the leather, put on a pair of socks, and walk in the item. This will stretch it to conform to your feet. I've used on things I just couldn't part with and it really works!!

southerngal0724 @grizzysmom67 What I've tried is filling a freezer bag full of water and placing it inside the boot where it needs stretching. Another technique is placing the freezer bag inside of boot, placing it in the freezer for 8 hours, and then putting it on with socks.

southerngal0724 grizzysmom67 The fastest technique is putting on a few pairs of socks, put the boot on, and then apply heat with your blow dryer for at least 30 seconds. Keep the boot on until it completely cools. Hope one of these techniques works, and good luck!

I have a a problem with ppl using and trying to return items twice now both times posh refused the claim so posh protected me and that is totally worth the 20% but this could cut out a lot of hassle and heartache. I even had someone damage one of my items to ensure the return. Mostly the ppl on here are AWSOME and trustworthy but every now and then you get a bad one. Can I use your picture and description?

sashascook Oh my goodness. This is so smart to do. Can you explain your steps? I feel like I should do the same. I have only sold 2 items and the buyers were amazing. I have purchased at least 10 items and my sellers have been amazing as well. Women should empower each other not hurt each other! I have heard horror stories and it took me 5 months before I would even post my beloved items.

gizzysmom67 @sashascook hello I have also (so far) have had only great experiences with all my purchases , sales even interactions with everyone And I agree most people are great I just think the few extra steps could save some heartache down the line I'm sure you could do whatever you'd like but I video the item well and then w/o stopping the video at all show me packing it up including any notes gifts ect and then taping it all up Attaching the label and I even show the Label to confirm buyers info

mmnovak Sadly, I've experienced it first hand & do the same. In regards to your Frye boots, I sold Frye boots in a boutique I managed living in Nashville. Hopefully you hung on to them. The majority of Fryes are handmade in Mexico, w/leather that does soften up. Place rubbing alcohol on the inside upper leather of the shoe area, then wear them around the house with thick socks. They do loosen overtime ;)

leoswife Thank you, I have had a few bad eggs to deal with on Posh, and it truly is a downer when these misfits smurch your reputation on site and with Poshmark. I see so much hatred and dishonesty in general and wonder where we are headed? Am 83 years old and have not felt this way about people (especially women ) in all my years. Be extra careful in dealing with them. Sad, but I understand why you must video your sales...and why we have so many surveillance cameras in use.

leoswife Just now got email from posh, buyer allowed to return VINTAGE COACH BAG FROM 1980s that I sold for$35 . She states it has "peeling on handle " that I did not note!!! Am really disgusted with these idiots that buy, then use all kinds of reasons to reject. Bag is vintage leather ... Handles are held! Ugh ! I wonder why Posh takes their sides for such trivial complaints. .?

mollydick Something happened on Poshmark to me a few weeks ago. It was such a good scam .I didn't see it coming. All I will say it concerned an expensive bag. She never ended up buying. I reported her scam to poshmark. I think she has been kicked off. The moral of the story, in the long run I got lucky. She bought something else. My husband wanted me to discontinue with posh. I think it was a wake up call.

The sob story abt. Getting paid on Fri after new years. We agreed on a price. She kept texting she definitely wanted it. Sob stories about her mother ect.

mollydick Ok so jerk off me held it. After she promised to buy. RESERVED the bag which is 1600 like new. The day she was supposed to pay she messages me she can only pay 30 less. I was livid. Instead of being thankful, I am now the mean bad person. Little did I know she was reserving a similar bag with the same story.

mollydick I was furious. She can't afford the bag, ect. I caught it by accident. Looking through the other marc bags to check prices ect. She literally took money put of my mouth. I had it on ebay and took it off early. Which I got charged for. So what she does essentially is reserve stuff and play us for fools. Maybe not illegal, but so wrong and not nice. I still can't get over it. I reported her for off posh buying, and posted her name all over

I learned a valuable lesson of course she said she bought the other bag because I was not as nice. Bull . She was just using us fools to see who would give her better deal after 10 days of bullshit. !! So what do you think of that ? What a fool I was.

I don't have anyone to video So I usually finagle the phone to stand up /lean on something and also on something (for some hight) like a box when I do it. Or I will sometimes try to hold it under my chin but thats a pain and rarely works . Not the best advice I know but hope that helps ?!! Happy Poshing *and videoing !

mama_magnolia I do this! I sold something in pristine condition, yet was given a bad review & the comment said it was filthy & used. Then, the buyer contacted PM to get her $$ back! Thank goodness, PM denied her (perhaps she'd done that before?? Who knows.) Anyway, I videotape ALL items as I'm packing them; I'm not paranoid, either, but I need to protect myself...

may574nard @gizzysmom67 I had it happen to me, awful. The person had surgery, stained the item, then sent it back saying it was dirty. Luckily I took lots of photos before mailing and once it was returned. Awful, Posh sided with me. Ebay has worse scammers I feel.

People can really suck But that's also why I will not trade Most of the horror stories here are people that traded and got scammed. I get that paying the 20% sucks BUT consignment stores charge 50% of what THEY decide the price should be & with a lot less customers. 20% is still a lot better and you have the protection of Posh. I know this isn't what happened to you but in general I think this is the place to be!

onmonroestreet My first Posh sale was a bit of a scam. He opened a case for "not authentic" then changed the case to "non-disclosed odor" so he wouldn't have to prove it. I know he got 99 cent shipping so he really wasn't out anything. It was really frustrating but I persevered and kept selling!

So there couldn't be any wear there cause I always check before shipping. gothchic13 @greenbucket that's happened to me too I've had a 1⭐ rating on a Tacori ring that I sold she's claimed it was missing a stone she was just mad cuz I rejected her offer of $45 on it it's a item I sold only cuz it's too big I couldn't get resized as the style of band was hollow out & had the white HQ CZ. I sold for$60 & that was still too low for the condition as I can't find it in my size now in a half way good condition for under$60.

motorbaby I am so glad I found and red this thread!!! I am new to selling and I never even thought about fraudulent claims. I had some Tiffany silver jewelry I never even wore and decided to sell it. I am too trusting. I have not had a problem with any of my buyers. They have been wonderful. Going forward I am going to be extra careful. It is a shame that woman would do this to each other. Please we need to build each other up not drag each other down. WE ARE THE FUTURE!!! let’s make it better.

The 1s & 2s can be easy to miss but when you share 3 or 4 people catch that and will usually return the shares. The more people who see your stuff the better chance you'll have to sell it 🤗

A lot of people will see the party items and you'll pick up some views & follows there. Lastly try to package things nicely & ship quickly so you get good reviews Hope that helps!

muadisole This is true, you need to be careful especially when selling high priced items. Watch out for people that would comment under the listing they want to buy it ASAP and to contact them via e-mail. Also the ones with a profile pic that shows a black circle and no listings. And lastly be careful with poshers that have like 6 digit numbers in their acct name such as “mer482659”. Most of my experiences are positive and PM has been on my side.

You shouldve received a message saying their issue & also asking what info you'd like to add. Ive seen them send a tag to send it back to you. (you'll lose the $$ but can always relist it) I've also seen them refund both of you if they feel no one is to blame. Decline the buyers claim Or offer them a discount to make them happy & keep it. Ive always found Posh to be pretty fair

The recent one...sharmaynne...or Shawna..multiple accounts. 1 star for shipping early. I block these people and then go thru their closet. They usually are selling fakes or illegal items. I click on report. Hopefully Posh will get rid of them

gizzysmom67 @zimzala shipping damages aren't an issue really. Posh stands by you/them and gets it resolved/refunded/paid ect. It's for the bad people who try to scam the honest people which is the issue. There are really a lot more good than bad but as with most things there are always a few bad people

jina123 @gizzysmom67 Probably safer to video not only sales but purchases. When I first started Posh. I bought a pretty pair of heels to wear for an event. When I got them they basically fell apart. After I followed Posh steps for processing complaint, the seller posted things accusing ME of tearing apart the shoes. I had to use common sense and ask her why I would order something I WANTED, just to ruin it when I received it.

kriss10fashion Great post, everyone! Sure is frustrating at times being a biz owner, huh? I have been on PM about 14 months now, with about 550 sales, of which 111 are Coach handbags alone. I take 8 pics of every item. Full lengthy descriptions, measurements, highlight any, yes any flaws! Pic should match. And I use the word "about", when discussing measurements.

On day #3 she opened a case on me stating I did not say a long strap came with it. In my description notes I mentioned style not made with long strap. I said tell PM to release my funds, which she did. Now, are they all this nice & easy-peasy? Uh, no! They scream at you, etc on the case lol. But IF you list it right out of the gate, you will not have any problem with PM. I have had 3 opened on me, won 3. I have had to open about 10 on my purchases I made & won 10!.

kriss10fashion There are a ton of new closets opened on PM in Dec. Proceed with caution when selling. They are normally buyers only. CYA with your listings. Tell your buyers what the ETA is for USPS delivery. Watch & when it is delivered, tell your buyer it was delivered, as expected, or earlier, etc. If delayed. tell them new ETA. You are nice, but you are on top of shipping if you need to get PM involved for fraud if suspected. Those are permanent file notes, your own CYA.

kriss10fashion I know it is hard about people saying it does not fit, etc. It is not a basis for seller ratings but it happens. CYA by using that word "about" 32" length, etc. When we go in Macys & try on, guess what? 3 dresses all look the same, but don't fit the same, do they? Cuz one is about 32", one is about 31" & one is about 30". This drives me crazy that these ratings due to "fit" are allowed on sellers closets. Anything less than 5 stars does not show in public, but affects your %'s.

kriss10fashion The more items you sell, the better your % will be for 5 stars & you can afford a couple of 2, 3, or 4 star ratings! It won't hurt your % totals. Sales are the key. Personally, when I sell I wrap really nice & include free gift. I get people that don't say thank you, let my funds rot until day #4 when PM automatically releases. I block them immediately.

I don't counter, I don't accept, I don't decline. I just block, period. LB's give crappy ratings or won't accept so I wait 4 days for funds. Nope, blocked the second they try it!

gizzysmom67 @kriss10fashion hello yes of course. I haven't had really any issues & I've purchased & sold a lot. But I agree w/ what you say about posting as much info & pictures as you can. I believe it helps the buyer get the most accurate view & also helps if they did try to pull something. Ill also specifically say if smthng runs small/large ect. If you're buying something don't assume anything. Ask questions Ask for measurements & more pics if necessary If they don't provide it I personally wouldn't buy

But I still don't like drama & trashing closets via those hit lists. What starts out as good & informative turns ugly quickly. Sad, but true. I would rather see all good Karma. Sharing others items, complimenting, etc.

allyrio Thank you so much for the measurement on the white coat I am normally a 16 inch armpit to armpit so I think that 18 is going to be too big on the white coat so I’m going to have to re-bundle I really love the shirt and the coat is very cute. I will shop your closet some more when I get home. In fact if I have something thicker on under, its even a little tight. Its marked small but fits closer to an extra small Just a FYI .. 🤷‍♀️

I also show the packaging & label to conform who it's going to. And I keep the video at least until it's arrived safely & had been accepted by the buyer.

If I'm selling something at $500 and they offer $495 I won't accept because then it doesn't go through Posh verification first. A lot of people I come across don't realize that you get unlimited photo storage w/them if you do. They do limit videos after a certain amount, but it's still a good amount. gizzysmom67 @dibrenn18 I also delete my Posh photos once I've created the listing. I wasnt sure at first if that would also delete them from the listing but it doesn't. If you don't do that already maybe try that. The other thing I found out is deleted text, pics & emails still take up storage. If you're not already doing so be sure to empty those trash bins. And lastly be sure to turn your phone actually off at least once a week. You only need to for a couple minutes But that also sometimes helps 🤗
