Hi 👋! Is the heel really 4 inches? Also, the strings are they something can be cut and sealed with fabric glue or nail polish?

Heel is 3.85" I rounded up.
Yes repairs you described would work fine. Stray threads turn down so not visible when worn.
I am a size 10 and bought them for myself but they are a true 11. They are worn but lovely-- pls bundle for best savings!
