jkdressler You'll get used to tagging:) add a few each week, it is fun and since it's your job, you certainly have a leg up! One word of caution: be very careful of trading. I've actually never traded before you (even though it was partial) as posh doesn't support it if something goes wrong and there are scammers out there. I'm a suggested user with many sales to prove my record so you're safe with me but usually I have a no trade policy. If you are ever unsure about someone, just tag me discreetly and I will give you my thoughts:)

onceuponathyme @ama179 - My closet is just a regular walk in... And I hate to admit it, but my own wardrobe is small and consistent (things you won't see here...) But my COSTUME "closet" is the entire upstairs of my huge house. I have several racks of vintage clothes, bins full of foldables, shoes under every rack... and my last show (Shakespeare play) all over the floor, waiting to be rehung. :-/ It's a mess, but a fun mess. Hopefully Posh can help me make some sense of it. :-)

onceuponathyme @gwennlei I was a music teacher (elementary for 14, university for 16) for my fist career, so this is my second life ... you can have one, too! While I taught I ran an antique store and specialized in vintage jewelry and clothing, although I did a lot of furniture, too. So when I started my 2nd life - writing, directing, producing, art directing, makeup artist, costumer, stylist - I had vintage clothes and antiques, and MU skills from my years teaching kids to do their makeup for musical theater, and costuming skills because clothes had always been a passion. But when I started dressing other people, I pretty much stopped dressing myself... all that has somehow become "work," which is why so many of the clothes I have used for shoots have remained unworn, even though I love them. I wear yoga tights and a hard tail tee pretty much every day - and toss over a FP tunic before walking out the door - in my uggs. Sad, huh? Meanwhile, I'm loving the idea I can pass on these truly WONDErFUL clothes - that I love - to other people who seem as obsessed as I am. My most current gig is doing makeup for the Wizard of Oz. I passed on the costuming, as it was just more work than I wanted to do .... 20 munchkins! :-/ Connect with me on Facebook and next time I have something coming up you can help with, I'll invite you. Or you can come over and help me clean up my last wardrobe job .... I'm putting it off, because it's such a pain in the keister to hang all those heavy clothes at once (it was Shakespeare...) My kids are in competitive hip hop, and so I'm making costumes/makeup etc. Also, they are both always participating in the Spring musicals at school. I'm on the make up team there. It's inspirational to hear your story. I grew up on the Peninsula, and support teachers in Millbrae. Small, small world. onceuponathyme Actually, @kellieshannon Kellie, I just started with an amazing closet of stuff I loved. Then I was a CAbi girl for 8 seasons ... which gave me a huge subset of staples of all sizes. I was able to walk onto indie film sets and provide all the clothing they needed - since they generally have no budget (or so they always will tell you) - you're a shoe in... And hire on as an assistant to a wardrobe artist - so you can see how the dailies are laid out, what program(s) to use to track the clothes, etc... The hardest part is the organization... things are not shot in order, so you sometimes need duplicate clothing (often!) because you will shoot it all torn up, and then later have to go back (in time) and shoot it "before" it got torn up (using a duplicate, of course). If you collect "sparkly pieces" someday those very things may be the most useful to you! Good luck!

I taught for 31 years and was a director (musicals, mostly). Now I'm "retired" (tired again) from teaching, and working on pretty much every aspect of movie making!

onceuponathyme Thanks, @scarlettstained Charlotte! It's a vintage Schiaparelli from ca 1950. This photo was taken on such a great night... I was in makeup turning our lead from a handsome 35 year old to a disgusting 85 year old for about 8 hours ... then I leapt into this green dress and jewelry - still wearing my CROCS! - and was an extra in this film until 5 AM... with an hour break around midnight to get the lead's age makeup off and turn him back into his handsome self again. What a day!

onceuponathyme @scarlettstained It is a lot of fun, Charlotte. And I love the acquisition and planning stages, particularly. The maintenance, inventory, and waiting between projects... not so much. I literally have four OVERFLOWING racks of vintage ... could very easily be 7 racks if I had to have enough room for looking! I also collect vintage Schiaparelli and Har - but most likely will not be selling them. They're almost as expensive as the real deal (as in gold and gemstones). And I love them. :-) I'll try to remember to tag you - but I've got a photoshoot tomorrow and next weekend for vintage, so please keep your eye out!

I have two shows running this week - "The Dining Room" and "The Wizard of Oz," so ... just WHEW! :-) I must say, I never forget, but sometimes I get behind in my sharing the love. I'm fairly new here, but everyone has been very kind. When I get HP - it seems as though HUNDREDS of people share it, and it's hard to hit them all back. I try, but ... ladybookworm @onceuponathyme Im 61 now and lost two of my children but have my 23 year old son residing with me for the last two years. My beloved mate of thirteen years got up one day and decided at age 60 to go discover himself, no contact at all so I'm just enjoying my life and doing Posh. Im disabled with a few heart problems but i wake every morning to a lovely sunrise and so Blessed to be alive and well. I have over 3.5 years of college and three or four certificates in something or another. I love posh and have learned how not to dress😊💁😎

From my actors I get ALL the details! ;-) I'm guessing pencil skirts work well for you, as well... yes? Do you know your "type?" Of these choices: 1) Classic, 2) Romantic, 3) Boho/Eclectic, 4) Dramatic... Of the Sex in the City girls ... the brunette is romantic, Samantha is dramatic, the redhead is classic and Carrie is boho/eclectic, if that helps. Usually there are two types that you enjoy wearing, with a fairly close 3rd, and a very distant 4th. Although you are often attracted to the 4th - and like in on others - when you buy things in that category (for me that last place one is Classic) - you tend to some times put them on, but never get out of the house in them. If you can identify your strongest two classifications, it really can streamline the process!

Absolutely crazy director. Of course I always think I'm the smartest woman in the room . . . so there is that. ;-) To put HP on your listing just hit "Edit" in the upper right corner of the ap, and add it in. I did it to mine for awhile, but then decided it wasn't great advertisement when I saw a gal that had "11 X HP!" on her listing. I thought, "If that's been an HP 11 times and no one bought it .... what's wrong with it?" :-)

I sold the other two pairs of cords awhile back, and these didn't get put back away after I mailed the others out. One of the things I haven't yet mastered is all the folding stuff... onceuponathyme @sandrawmills I saw your question in @katef 's closet. The fabulous thing about HPs is that more people see them in a short period of time. Not only do they go to the HP portion of the party closet, but many people share HP's during parties, and sometimes even after. That puts more eyes on them than on the typical listing. There are some ways to help you get HP's. Look at the party hosts for upcoming parties. The "regular poshers" (not the posh employees) generally will have a few thousand followers ... and will have a posting in their closet like "I'm hosting a party!" Make sure you're following PM rules, and post "congrats" in their listing. Put your items that fit the party theme at the top of your closet, and they will likely choose one of your items. Happy Poshing!

I costumed - with the help of @katstyle - 60 extras (besides myself!), did Old Age makeup on our lead actor from 10 AM to 6 PM, threw this dress on (over my crocs) and galloped through the mud to make a cameo in the feature film I had written. What a night!

onceuponathyme @turnstyle . . . hahahahaha Michelle is my new BFF - we met here, but have become friends far beyond PM. There is nothing "normal" or "typical" about either of us. :-) Let's see ... in the last month I sent a box of about 20 garments to a "PM friend" who was looking for something special for a wedding, with the proviso she would pick what she wanted and send the rest back. When the wedding was cancelled due to the fires in AZ, she sent it all back - in perfect condition. Then another PM friend needed clothes for a fashion show - so I took a bunch of photos of my racks that are NOT on PM, texted her photos, and she picked what she wanted. I sent them to her - she paid for shipping - and is shipping them back any day now. Another time I sent a box of my favorite things I'm not selling to a Posher who is a seamstress who wanted to make patterns from them - who also sent them back when she was done. And I sent another lovely model a box of my favorite Victorian pieces for a photo shoot - and got them back in good time and perfect condition. So - long story longer - the only way to find out if Michelle regrets your is to ask her. And she won't think that's weird at all . . . Just message her that you are blown away at her generosity - and tell her if she's regretting it you want to make it right. And . . . welcome to the club! :-) :-* PS I DID see the bundle. Whoa! FABULOUS items for ... pretty much nothing. So I see what you mean, and I probably would ask her just to put your mind at ease. And then enjoy your new swag! :-D

onceuponathyme @ridinghood13 Wow! I'm getting out of costuming (hence my mega-listing on PM!) and into producing and directing. I wrote and produced my first feature last year - it's now in post - and have directed several shorts in the year since we wrapped production. My son is 22 - he's studying to be an animator. He LOVES 2-D animation. . . it's his "thing" . . . but he feels that he has to master 3-D if he's ever going to make a living doing what he loves. I can't wait to tell him I "met" you. I'm betting he'll know eXACTly who you are! :-) The indie market is pretty much alive and well in San Francisco, but it's hard to make a living at it up here. Fortunately my hubby can support us - and still be my cinematographer, because he's got an amazing eye. I see snap shots of myself taken by cast and crew members and cringe. But when he lights and shoots me (even though his "directions" are hardly flattering) i come out looking like me . . . 20 years ago. :-) As for my little company, you can see a bit of what we've done at www.onceuponathymeproductions.com - although I haven't taken time to update our website for over a year. I need to do that. Are you still doing animation work?

I'm just honored I had something that Michelle would want to wear! And a little surprised. Lol. Happily. That's why she said she was having fun putting together outfits for me. Like we were having a sleep over trying on clothes. I was there in spirit " yes, that one ... With those boots and... Another mimosa?" I was really going to buy some things. She has many priced at a layman's (laywoman) level, which is how I bought your dress. Perfectly priced and super cute! I'm honored by the trust. No, you all are not normal or typical which is what makes you both so beautiful and life great. I'm not there yet, but trying! onceuponathyme @turnstyle :-) Yes, it is a bit like that. It's also - for me at least - at last finding women I have something in common with. I have a shopping addiction. So do many of the women here. Fortunately, I turned that into a positive with my business . . . and while I acknowledge the "problem,"I don't really want to change it. I've met many exceptional women here who feel the same. :-D Michelle has had the honor and luck to not have had to BUY most of what she's selling... she got a lot of it as "pulls..." After modeling, there are always things left the store doesn't want - can't sell, since it's been worn, etc . . . and the models and sometimes stylists get to take them home. Unfortunately for me, most of the things in my closet were purchased at full price - because I felt I needed them for a shoot. Sometimes they got used, but sometimes not. I do have SOME things that were just "my clothes" that I wore a bit, and am now getting rid of to make room, but nearly everything in my closet - at least 2/3 of it - are my "business purchases," so there's a limit to what I can lose. If I can't replace it for the price I get - better to keep it in hopes I can use it in another project in the future. Also, I can sell on other sites more cheaply. PM takes 20%, and that's just how it is. I love the site, and the women here, though, so I'm here to stay. And I follow Posh rules for sales through Posh, as that's what's right. :-) You'll want to do that, too. I'm guessing you won't find Michelle modeling - she has a doctorate, and has been a business woman for the last - decade I suppose. But if you do find her, let me know! I'd love to see more pictures than I have!

lifeinstiches @susanleeyogi 😂😂😂 she is not a hoarder it is her job to collect clothes for the shots 💕 & that equals lots of awesome beautiful vintage clothes you never see anymore that are so beautiful. I told her if I ever won the lottery I would build a house around all her vintage clothes & buy them for myself. Some of them are just amazing pieces that someday you will never see again. She even has or had? My wedding dress that I took out of a magazine when I was 12 years old and I still have a picture of it today, I never got married and I never thought I would see It again after all these years. Amazing & I am addicted to Victorian era everything most of my furniture is cherry & I did have tons of furniture but now only a few pieces when we last moved we downsized so much I had no choice😢 someday we won't rent no more I hope in a year & move to FL. & I can get my house back to that again 🙏 one can dream 😍😍 Have a awesome day. Instead, while I DID have vintage clothing in my antique store for awhile, for most of my life, I've just kept everything I liked. And I like a LOT of stuff. Most has never been worn - or was only worn for the shoot/project.... so yeah. @susanleeyogi has me pegged... Dragon all the way. :-)

vromm3773 Hi Darva. I have gone to every place in my area to purchase a box big enough for the coat. I cannot tell you the shock that no one, not fed ex, ups or staples has a box big enough. So I have two places getting in the xtra large boxes as well as having my doorman making sure they don't destroy a box. So I have everyone on the job.
