Original by Robert Enameled Strawberry Pin VTG 60's

Vintage 1960's era Original by Robert red enameled strawberry scatter pin. Signed. Subtly shaded red enameled strawberry with black seeds and green stem and cap Brooch measures approx. 7/8 inches at its widest point and 1 3/4 tall inches tall. Signed "Original by Robert" on the company's signature artist's palate cartouche Robert Originals was well known for creating high quality enameled figural pieces and flowers. This is a great example of that work. Robert Levy, Irving Landsman, and David Jaffee founded Fashioncraft Jewelry in NYC in 1942. In 1960 the name of the company was changed to Robert Originals, Inc. The Original by Robert mark was used from 1942 on. The company ceased operations in 1979. The company was known for using Austrian crystals and for rhinestone and seed pearl designs along the lines of those created by Miriam Haskell. They also created beautiful Christmas tree pins, and necklaces with elaborate clasps.
