Ikebana is a Zen flower arranging style that strives for simplicity & naturalness. This technique will also work for traditional Western flower arranging. This blade style is also used for a wide variety of woodworking jobs. The 3.5" blade has a cutting edge that measures 1 7/8". The cutting edge (hagane) is forged from blue carbon steel & is heat treated to Rc64 (extremely hard) for a keen, long-lasting edge. The special layered jigane (soft metal forming the body of the blade) was made by forge-welding over 30 layers of metal into a complex & unique Damascus pattern.
