@thrift_skool_la Foxy is a Maine Coon as is his brother Wolfie from another litter (pictured elsewhere in my closet). I love that hou have all of these kitties! Hi Lulu! Foxy reminds me of Mr. Briggs. He lived to be 16, his top weight was around 16 lbs, and he would stand on his hind legs next to me at the counter and his paws would be on the counter!! A vet told me he was a Maine Coone...his mom was a tiny little thing that delivered six kittens. He was a great companion, he traveled around the country with me, he went on walks with me, and man could he purr!

@poshgarden Foxy is a Maine Coon & us currently 19 lbs & 2.5 yrd old. He'll reach his peak development at 4-5 yrs. Try the “kitty holster” leash.
It's secured by Velcro on the neck & under the tummy. You can purchase on Amazon.

@poshgarden Put the kitty holster leash over their head & gently attach on the neck then the stomach. Yes, they all “freeze“ initially. The goal is to make it a very positive experience starting in small time increments, 1-2 minutes every day.
Let them see how fun it is to look outside even if it’s just on your porch or steps & really encourage them verbally & tell them they’re wonderful & what a great job they did & then take them back in.

@poshgarden The important point is that you let your cat walk you with you behind them - you do not pull them along like dogs. You probably know all of this but just suggestions! THEY LOVE GOING OUT! I have a video of Foxy sitting and coming on command!

@lalulushop Definitely Emperor! He’s gorgeous.! We have a tigger kitty who also walks on a leash, more for her safety. When we go up to our cottage by the beach ,she walks at night up the streets with us. At home she will sit on the steps and not go farther,I could probably leave her out there with no problems,but it’s peoplesI worry about not paying attention.

@lalulushop Aggie was a rescue,she was restless needing activity,we got a leash and put it on and that was that. Never had to train! She also loves to have balls thrown up the stairs and she catches them on the upstairs landing like a catcher.Really cute to watch.

how did you leash train him? probably as a kitten? my babies are rescues, one was feral so still getting domesticated 4 years later. I think she understands my sign language for "it's ok" meaning don't run away, "sleepy sleepy" & bye bye. my little man is much more affectionate but a year old when I got him. he was a Houdini w harness/collar& leash, so I gave up!

@lalulushop oh my gosh! I tried a few years ago to train my little man with a harness and leash but no matter what size harness I tried he escaped like Houdini so I gave up. we're very rural, surrounded by land trust, I was worried I wouldn't catch him and he'd be dinner for some woodland occupat!
