Dress is designed by Carol Peretz exquisite evening wear & special occasion dresses. It was sold by L Davis specialty dress shop for whom Peretz makes dresses. Apparently they removed her label and replaced it with their own.
Carol Peretz saw my listing & reached out to me confirming that this was indeed her design. This dress is made of highest quality heavy weight silk & trimmed in antique Alencon lace from France & rare antique glass beads. The skirt is lined in a translucent Rayon chiffon - also deliciously weighty - which serves as a sewn in slip and gives the skirt extra sumptuous substance. Carol Peretz uses the highest quality fabrics & trims in her designs. This dress is Luxe all the way & feels wonderful. I can honestly say this dress is a work of art.( Belt not included.) Originally a cream colored ribbon was used at waist - easily replaceable.
Measurements taken flat, double for circumference:

Hello, wow stunning!! Could the gown be altered to a smaller size? Does it touch the floor or ankle length? Is there a train? Thank you and I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards;
Sarah

Sarah - There is no train, The length of the dress from waist to hem is listed as 34" - so measure from your waist downward to 34" and that is where the hemline will be on you. I am 5'6" & it is a bit above the ankles on me - which is a pretty length. As for a train or veil - I would recommend making or having made a veil with a pearly/lace beaded tiara or headband worn in your hair to hold it in - I think a translucent fabric or netting would be very pretty - any length - cont. next message

You ask if it could be altered. I asked my friend's father who is an expert tailor & he says yes. He says a dress can always be made smaller.
It is lovely & has a 1930's feeling to it.. - may I ask your usual size? I've seen a 1930's dress worn with a long net veil that became a train and it was lovely,
The lady wore it with vintage silver shoes - so beautiful!

I think you would have an amazing ensemble if you wore it with long vintage style net veil and a pr of vintage shoes with straps as they wore in the 1920s & 1930's. Also a beautiful white bouquet of flowers like they carried then!
And possibly long gloves in off white leather. or satin - I might have a pair if you decide to get the dress. I can check if you are interested.
Let me know if you need more info.
