Vintage [10] black velvet prom dress with train with sheer back [10 Altered]

Picture It: Prom 1995, San Francisco Bay Area. It was me! Times may change but this timeless vintage velvet train dress is still a classic look - but now has a whole new group of goth and whimsigoth fans! Made of a velvet material with a sheer bodice that is finished with a velvet choker closed with two velvet buttons. The back is also sheer, closing starting at the nape of your neck with a series of ten buttons that end right at the waist. In total, there are 12 back and neck buttons. The dress features a train that gently follows your movement while you walk. This ankle-length dress has full-length sheer sleeves. You’ll see from photos that the only sewing fix needed to the dress is under the arms, up near the armpits, where my wide back stretched out the seams **This can be fixed with a few stitches or you may decide it’s not an area seen in photos and not a big deal. Measurements: Pit to Pit: 15” Waist: 13.5” Hips: 17” Knee: 19” Arm: 20” Bottom Hem: 35” Total Length from Shoulder to End of Train: 65” Total Length from Shoulder to Front Bottom Hem: 57.5” Shoulder to Velvet Bodice: 6” This was a size 10 but altered at our local wedding shop where we bought it. Please check measurements to see if this will fit you and remember that the velvet does not stretch but the sheer does have some stretch. I would love to have this dress find a second life!
