Vintage 40s Big Mac Penneys Coverall Boiler Suit Jumpsuit Forties Coveralls

Vintage 1940s Penney's Big Mac coveralls / boiler suit with tons of character. Coveralls close with a heavy duty brass "Gripper Zipper" from the crotch to chest, with a snap above the zipper and a rivet style "Big Mac" metal button at neck. Two large front pockets, one has a watch pocket, and two chest pockets, one with a snap flap, the other with an inner pen and pencil pocket. Pockets are reinforced with red top stitching. Vent slits at the hips, two large rear pockets and hammer loop at left. Two tool pockets on right leg. Waist has elasticized shirred side panels at hips. Major seams are triple stitched and sleeve cuffs close with rivet style button in a hidden placket. 

Fabric is soft, much washed, cotton denim herringbone twill weave. These coveralls have been working hard-they have three frayed holes on the left leg, a triple stitched patch at the right knee, a triple stitched patch on the right side of the right knee, paint and rust stains on both legs. There's a frayed hole at the left elbow, the left cuff has a triple stitched patch and there are paint and rust stains on both sleeves. The hand-stitched patches show that someone loved these and kept repairing them, year after year. Ideal vintage work wear with an authentic, distressed age patina that cannot be reproduced!
